YHH's summer hockey slate begins in Fargo with with five age groups spanning the 2024-2028 birth-years.

Later than expected, youth hockey returns

With the youth hockey season canceled before (most) Minnesota Hockey State Tournament quarterfinals could begin, ice arenas around the upper midwest and the rest of the country have been without their lifeblood - players.

After nearly three months of podcasts, live-tweeting junior hockey drafts, and tentative tournament planning, the Youth Hockey Hub staff could not be more excited, and relieved, to return to the arena.

The Big One 2020’s Girls Tournament will be a little awkward for everyone. For the most part, players have been without their teammates and coaches, relying almost solely on dryland training to stay sharp. Coaches have been without players, doodling power-play formations on Post-Its during company Zoom meetings.

This weekend all of the planning, all of the dryland, and all of the doodling come to a head, as five age-groups make the trek to Fargo, North Dakota, for YHH’s first tournament of the 2020 summer season.

Shake off the rust. Locate your travel mugs in the back of the cupboard. Pack the Suburban.

Hockey’s back.
