A hello from YHH, divisional schedules, and a handful of Players to Watch from each age group.

Three Facilities, One Heartbeat

For the second straight weekend, the Youth Hockey Hub will be hosting a tournament across three facilities in the Fargo and West Fargo areas, stretching from the Fargo Dome to the storied field of the West Fargo High School football team.

Each of these arenas - Veterans Memorial Arena in West Fargo, H.A. Thompson and Sons Arena in north Fargo, and Farmers Union Arena (which is located at the meeting point of West Fargo and south Fargo) - carry their own set of characteristics that make them jewels of the prairie.

Veterans Memorial Arena offers arguably the most efficient pathway from entrance to the ice area in the state. Restrooms are conveniently placed far away from the lobby, eliminating foot-traffic and leaving the smooth entrance floor open for games of tag and wrestling matches for toddlers.

Cruise the main drag between Fargo's Hector International Airport, and out of nowhere, a majestic concrete box in the middle of a parking lot dominates the cloudless the sky. In that box, you will find the home of the 16-time national (FCS) champion North Dakota State Bison football team. But travel on a little farther, and behind the Fargo North High School (GO SPARTANS) football field, and H.A. Thompson and Sons Arena will be open early to welcome you. The building oozes character and simply drips with history, not to mentions offers some of the firmest ice in the Dakotas.

Sunday's championship games, and dozens of pool play contests, will be held at Farmers Union Arena, attached to Scheels Arena, home of the USHL's Fargo Force. The Google reviews for Farmers Union Arena are outstanding, as the facility maintains a 4.5/5.0 rating after 75 individual reviews. After spending last weekend pounding up and down the stairs of the rink, the YHH staff can attest that Farmers Union offers an excellent mix of sightlines, atmosphere, and amenities.

YHH hopes that these (satirical) descriptions of our hearty facilities has been an (mildly) enjoyable read, and we'll see you the Peace Garden State!
