The Jane Ring/Sue Ring-Jarvi Women's Hockey Fund was created to help female hockey players graduating from Minnesota high schools attend accredited colleges, universities, or vocational-technical schools in their freshman year.

The scholarship is named after Minnesota women's hockey pioneers Jane Ring and Sue Ring-Jarvi, the mother-daughter tandem that has helped enormously in growing Minnesota girls' and women's hockey into the model for the rest of the nation that it is today. 

ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

• Be female high school seniors graduating from high schools in Minnesota
• Play varsity hockey or its equivalent while in high school.
• Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during their senior year in high school.

AWARDS

• Up to three awards of up to $2,500 each will be granted. Awards are one-time and are not renewable.
• Awards are for undergraduate study only and may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and required equipment.

Jamieson recorded four goals and nine points for Bloomington Jefferson last season, completing her career with the Jaguars with five varsity seasons under her belt. In the fall, Jamieson was a key member of the Jaguars' varsity soccer team. 

This coming school year, Jamieson will attend the University of Wisconsin, and ironically will share the same dorm and major as fellow scholarship-winner Anna Kittleson.

Another multi-letter winner in multiple sports, Kittleson helped backstop a Chisago Lakes squad to an appearance in the Class A, Section 5 semifinals last season before a tough loss to Orono. Kittleson posted a record of 9-5-1 with a save percentage of .884 during the regular season and stopped 47 of 50 shots faced during the section playoffs. Like Jamieson, Kittleson also suited up for her school's varsity soccer team last season, and the pair will continue their education at the University of Wisconsin. 

In addition to capping her four-year career with the Minneapolis varsity team this year, Peterson concluded her academic run at Southwest High School with Salutatorian honors, finishing the shortened 2019-2020 school year with a cumulative 3.99 GPA in Southwest's rigorous International Baccalaureate Program. 

A team captain for the girls' hockey team, Peterson will take her considerable academic talents to Georgetown for the upcoming school year.
