Girls Minor Final: Bruins 2, Blues 1 (OT)

One ricochet. One whack. Game over.

An unfortunate bounce spoiled Blues' goaltender Reese Kvasager's 17-save performance as Bruins forward Taylor Nelsen knocked home the game-winning goal in the Girls Minor championship game on Sunday morning, recording her seventh goal of the tournament in the process.

The goal ended a 1-1 deadlock created by the Bruins' Brynn Warner and the Blues' Ella Sauter, who each scored power-play goals in the second half to force the extra session. Warner's goal came on a beautiful shot from the slot, while Sauter's tally was scored off a quick shot directly after a face-off in the Blues' zone.

Nelsen was selected the tournament's Most Valuable Player, pacing the Girls Minor Division in scoring with nine total points and netting the aforementioned game-winner in the title game.

Taylor Nelsen earned Tournament MVP honors for her seven-goal, nine-point performance over the weekend.

Girls Major Final: Bolts 1, Blue Jackets 0

Maddison Boone scored the lone goal en route to being named Player of the Game, and goaltender Payton Hassler earned the shutout and was selected as Girls Major Most Valuable Player as the Bolts topped the Blue Jackets 1-0.

A back-and-forth battle concluded with that score, as the Bolts held off a late charge by the Blue Jackets to cement the win. Hassler allowed just five goals in four games, posting two shutouts and not allowing more than two goals in a single game.

Boys Minor Final: Blue Jackets 5, Bruins 2

One way to make your case for Most Valuable Player honors is to have an outstanding weekend. A better way is to have an outstanding weekend and play a pivotal role in your team's championship win.

Nolan Steele accomplished just that on Sunday, scoring two goals and adding an assist as the Blue Jackets pulled away from the Bruins for a 5-2 victory.

Jaxon Hardy, Mason Dalbec, and Logan Brink each added a single goal in the win for the Blue Jackets, while Austin Eison dished out a pair of assists to play a key role in the triumph. Charles Pohl and Joey Stewart were the goal-scorers for the Bruins in the loss.

Boys Major Championship: Blackhawks 4, Blues 2

The Blackhawks blitzed the Blues for three goals in the first half and then held on for dear life in the second, escaping Sunday's final with a 4-2 win after allowing two late power-play goals.

Will Mikan scored twice in the first half, and Beckett Shillings added a goal to spot the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead, an advantage that held until midway through the second frame.

The Blues capitalized on a five-on-three opportunity, with Bauer Walter and Quentyn Crotteau scoring 30 seconds apart to pull within one. Shillings ended any hope of a comeback with a final goal at the 11:51 mark of the second half to ice the Blackhawks' win.

Shillings earned MVP honors for his play this weekend, scoring four goals and totaling eight points.
