O'Kane participated in last fall's Girls National Invitational Tournament for Northern Elite Green U16.
You couldn't help but root for O'Kane during this spring's Class AA State Tournament.
The junior netminder had helmed her Cardinals through upset-wins over No. 2 seed Brainerd/Little Falls and top-seeded Roseau during the Section 8AA playoffs, making 78 saves on 80 shots in the process, and drew No. 3 seed Minnetonka in the quarterfinal round.
O'Kane proceeded to make 57 saves on 59 shots against the Skippers, with the Cardinals eventually falling short in double-overtime 2-1. For the season, O'Kane finished with a 12-1-2 record, a 1.15 goals-against-average, a .957 save percentage, and three shutouts.
With a year of high school to go, O'Kane will play a critical part for next season's Cardinals, a team that should once again challenge for a spot at the state tournament.
