Kings and Bruins pick up wins in midweek Bantam Elite League Major action.

Sharks' comeback attempt falls short, Bruins ride big first half to victory

Kings 6, Sharks 4

Despite rattling off three goals in the second half, the Sharks fell short against the Kings in a 6-4 loss to kick off Wednesday's midweek Bantam Elite League action at St. Thomas Ice Arena. 

Jackson Ernst scored twice as a part of the Kings' five-goal outburst in the first half, helping spot the royals a 5-1 lead after the first 25 minutes. Jimmy Dodig, Will Kortan, and Alex Hall also scored for the Kings in the first frame, while Bode Sampair notched the lone tally for the Sharks. 

Ben Box, Christian Garrity, and Danny Klaers all scored in the second to pull the Sharks within two goals, but Ernst's completed hat trick alleviated the pressure, and the Kings held on for the 6-4 win. 

Bruins 10, Canes 3 

The Bruins piled up seven goals in the first half en route to a 10-3 win over the Canes in the nightcap, paced by Brock Alberts, Joe Gillespie, and Mason Jenson, who all scored two goals each in the win. Alberts earned Player of the Game honors for his performance, adding two assists to his tallies.

Szilvester Lippai, Brent Solomon, Parker Deschene, and Landon Cottingham each recorded a single goal for the Bruins, with the league's leading scorer Henry Lechner tacking on a pair of assists. 

Luke Myers scored two goals for the Canes in the loss, with a Carson Kingbay goal sandwiched between Myers's scores. 


Kings defenseman Cameron Dean registered an assist in Wednesday night's win over the Sharks.


Ben Box notched a goal and an assist in the Sharks' loss to the Kings.


Brock Alberts netted two goals and added two assists in the Bruins' 10-3 win over the Canes on Wednesday night.
