Divisional breakdowns for 14U Girls, 14U Boys and 15-Only Boys leagues at the Labor Day break.

14U Boys Tier I: First-place Green Giants undefeated heading into break

Moorhead's Tyden Bergeson leads the 14U Tier I Fall League in scoring with five goals and 13 points.

If this were poker, the Green Giants would hold all the cards going into Labor Day weekend.

The league leaders of the 14U Tier I Boys Division are sitting pretty at 5-0-1 through six games, having outscored the opposition 24-7. Princeton dynamo Lane Olson currently leads the Green Giants in scoring with five goals and six points, followed by Gavin Cunningham's (Lino Lakes) three goals and four points.

Just shy of the top spot in the standings are the Walleye (4-3), Moose (4-2), and Lakers (3-3-1), rounding out the following three teams in the pecking order.

In their last four games, the Walleye are 1-3 after starting the HP Tier I Fall season with three consecutive victories. They are led in scoring by Maple Grove's Brady Sorrentino (4-1-5) and Wayzata's George Ericson (2-2-4).

At 4-2, the Moose have been arguably the hottest team in the division early in the season. After dropping their first two, the team has won four straight games and has recorded five goals in two of those twins. Luke McPherson (Lakeville) leads the Moose with four goals and five points, while Evrett Bennett (Farmington) and Cade Sherman (Rosemount) have registered four points each.

Goaltender Zane Lanahan (Woodbury) has been impressive between the pipes for the Moose, stopping 48 of 50 shots for a goals-against average of 0.67 and a .960 save percentage. Lanahan's GAA and SV% are the best of any goaltender that has faced 50 or more shots thus far.

Mason Grinnell (Victoria) leads the Lakers with three goals and four points through seven games. The Lakers hold the distinction of giving the Green Giants their closest contest, a 3-3 tie on Aug. 27 at the Plymouth Ice Center.

The Blue Ox might not be in the top half of the current standings, but the boys of the north are led by the league's top scorers in Moorhead products Tyden Bergeson and Carver Hasbargen. Through seven games, Bergeson has five goals and 13 points for the Blue Ox, with Hasbargen tallying three goals and 11 points.

15-Only Boys Tier I: Blue Ox in first, three teams vying for second

East Grand Forks's Grady Magner leads the 15-Only Division with 10 points.

The Blue Ox currently lead the 15-Only Boys Division at the Labor Day break, despite having a four-game winning streak snapped in a 9-4 loss to the Walleye on Aug. 29.

Grady Magner (East Grand Forks) leads the Blue Ox and the 15-Only Division in scoring with four goals and 10 points, followed by Warroad's Carson Pilgrim and his six goals and nine points. Pilgrim's six tallies rank first in the division.

A three-team logjam muddies the waters for second place, as the Walleye (3-3-1), Polars (4-3), and Moose (3-3-1) all currently sit at 14 points in the standings. Cade De St. Hubert (Bloomington Jefferson) leads the Walleye in scoring with two goals and four points, while the Polars are paced by Blake Schultz's (River Lakes) goal and three assists. Roddick Simons (South St. Paul) leads the Moose with two goals and three points.

The Green Giants, Loons, and Lakers round out the bottom half of the 15-Only standings, but the Green Giants are within striking distance of that second-place slot at 3-4-1. The Green Giants feature one of the league's leading scorers in Andover's Benjamin Doll (2 goals, 4 assists, 6 points) and Elk River's Braden Hansberger (4-1-5).

Among Minnesotans, Zach Price (Osseo-Maple Grove) of the Walleye has an early claim on the league's goaltending crown, posting a 2.00 goals-against average, a 9.30 save percentage, and a shutout so far. The GAA and SV% are tops among Minnesota goaltenders that have faced at least 40 shots.

Team North Dakota's Tyler Miller is the only goalie to put up better numbers on 40-plus shots than Price, registering a GAA of 1.50 and .930 SV% of his own.

Osseo-Maple Grove's Zach Price has been a standout in goal for the Walleye early in the HP Fall Tier I season.

14U Girls Tier I: Lakers on top, Walleye and Loons within striking distance

Minnetonka's Ellie Stewart has helped the Lakers to the top spot in the 14U Tier I Girls standings.

It looks like a three-horse race in the 14U Girls Division, as the Lakers hold down the top spot and the Loons and Walleye just behind. The Lakers recurrently 5-0-1 in league play, led in scoring by Eden Prairie's Haley Box (3-5-8) and Minnetonka's Ellie Stewart (2-6-8).

The Lakers also boast one of the top goaltenders in the division in Edina's Nora Hannan. Hannan has posted a 0.89 goals-against average through five games played, and her two shutouts are tied for the league lead.

At 5-1, the Walleye are power by the league's highest-scoring tandem of players in Kendall Hassler (Delano/Benilde-St. Margaret's) and Macy Rasmussen (Orono). Hassler has racked up 11 goals and 19 points in five games, with Rasmussen just behind with seven goals and 11 points.

The Loons are 4-1 and are in third place after falling to the Walleye 5-2 on Thursday night. Abigail Broz paces the Loons in scoring with five goals and eight points, and Taylor Thompson (Forest Lake) has been outstanding in goal early on. Thompson has allowed one goal on 55 shots for a .980 save percentage and a sparkling 0.50 GAA. Broz's eight points are fourth in the league as of today, one point behind Voyageurs' forward Ella Rothe's nine.

Still lurking behind the top three teams are the Green Giants (3-1-1) and the Blue Ox (2-0-2). Andover standouts Amelia Mcquay (3-4-7) and Hanna Olson (5-1-6) lead the Green Giants on offense. At the same time, the Blue Ox features Roseau's Lily Erickson (3 goals) and Bemidji's Mali McLean (1-2-3) at the top of their scoring leaders.

The Blue Ox is yet another team that relies on solid goaltending, as Moorhead's Taylor Kressin has stopped 85 of 87 shots and Alexandria's Rachel Mohr has made 58 saves on 62 shots.

Kendall Hassler leads all skaters with 18 total points through six games for the Walleye.
