Lincoln Ayers-Assad
Canes
One of several Canes to put up gaudy point totals, Ayers Assad put on a performance for the ages on opening weekend.
In an 8-1 win over the Devils, Ayers Assad tallied five goals and two assists for a total of seven points, believed to be the all-time record for a single game by a Bantam Elite League player.
Ayers Assad finished with 10 goals and 20 points in 10 games for the Canes, but his impact on the game goes far beyond the scoresheet. His physicality belies his size, he's nearly impossible to knock over, and there may not be a more balanced skater in the league.

Phoenix Cahill
South Dakota
South Dakota scored 31 goals during the Bantam Elite League Major season, and Cahill factored into nearly 25% of them as a defender by handing out seven assists.
A native of Cottage Grove, Cahill stood tall on the blueline for South Dakota, skating well and using his natural reach to consistently frustrate opposing forwards. Unafraid to use his body, Cahill also helped change momentum in several contests with his physical play.

Riley Kamm
Kings
Broadcasting a game gives you a unique perspective on the action.
When you find yourself calling the same player's name repeatedly, it stays with you, even if that player didn't light up the scoreboard.
Kamm was everywhere during the Kings' heartbreaking 5-4 loss to the eventual champion North Stars in the semifinal round. He routinely caused chaos in the offensive zone with his hell-bent forechecks and tireless motor.
With three goals and seven assists in 10 games, Kamm does not rank among the league's leading scorers. However, he is the type of player that will carve out a role for himself on any team based on his hustle, grit, and toughness.

Breckun Metcalf
North Dakota
Like in life, sometimes half the battle in the Bantam Elite League is just showing up. That's what Metcalf did, game in and game out, for North Dakota.
Metcalf's numbers won't leap off the page (goalie stats in the Bantam Elite League are rarely stunning), but he came to play each game for the Peace Garden State. Metcalf played 235 minutes between the pipes for North Dakota and faced 130 shots on goal.

Gabe Perron
Canes
While the Canes had numerous players rank among the league's leading scorers, including the top three overall, Perron quietly paced the Bantam Elite League Majors in scoring as a defender with 17 points.
The lanky blueliner from Bloomington saw ample time on both the power play and penalty kill thanks to a diverse skill set and registered at least one point in each game during the BEL Major season. Perron's 15 assists ranked first among all BEL Major skaters.

Mason Van Brunt
North Stars
The Bloomington native filled in quite nicely for the North Stars, filling various roles from his forward position.
Van Brunt tallied seven points during his second Bantam Elite League season during this year's opening weekend, and finished his nine-game stretch with the North Stars with six goals and 11 points.
Away from the stat sheet, Van Brunt's effort and tenacity were evident each time he stepped on the ice, and he brought a no-quit work ethic to an already talented North Stars lineup.
