"The Incomers" is a series of articles from YHH that highlight the Minnesota natives joining one of the state's six Division I men's and women's hockey programs as freshmen.

#6 – Mitch Wolfe
Defense (L)
6’0” 175lbs
Andover, MN

The Andover native joins the Beavers after playing for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, where he predominantly landed on the team’s top defensive-pairing last season. In his two seasons with the Buccaneers, Wolfe tallied 34 points (8G, 26A) and totaled 82 penalty minutes in 104 games played.

At Andover High School, Wolfe was fortunate to be on three very strong teams, capping off his high school career with a 72-13-2 record.

For his senior season, Wolfe was selected as an alternate captain and recorded 40 points in 31 games, finishing his MN HS career with 19 goals and 51 assists in 84 games played, for a mark of 0.83 points-per-game (PPG). Alongside defensive partner Wyatt Kaiser, Wolfe capped off this successful Minnesota high school career by helping lead the Huskies to the consolation championship of the 2020 Class AA State Tournament.

With the addition of Wolfe, the Beavers blueline will now include five Minnesota natives, including Jack Powell (Alexandria), Will Zmolek (Rochester), Will Magnuson (Chaska), and Kyle Looft (Mankato).

Mitchell Wolfe won 72 games in his varsity career at Andover High School.

#8 – Adam Flammang
Forward (R)
5’11” 189lbs
St. Michael, MN

Another 2020 Minnesota high school graduate, Adam Flammang, joins the Beavers forward group after spending two seasons in the USHL, first with the Sioux Falls Stampede and most recently with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, who drafted him No. 19 overall in the second round of 2020 USHL Entry Draft.

Unfortunately, his first season in the USHL with the Stampede was cut short, where he only played in six games before an upper-body injury forced him to sit out the rest of the year. Once healthy, Flammang returned to his scoring ways and was announced team captain, leading the RoughRiders team with 46 total points (27G, 19A), which tied him for 41st place in the entire USHL last season.

Hailing from St. Michael, Flammang played four varsity seasons for the STMA Knights, totaling 177 points in 110 games, and setting many all-time scoring records for the Knights. After he helped the Knights earn their first-ever state tournament appearance as a sophomore during the 2017-18 season, Flammang was selected to be team captain for his junior and senior seasons.

Adam Flammang led St. Michael-Albertville to the 2018 Class AA State Tournament.

#29 – Lleyton Roed
Forward (L)
6’0” 184lbs
White Bear Lake, MN

A native of White Bear Lake, Lleyton Roed is a left-shot forward who will play for the Beavers this upcoming season after only one entire season of junior hockey.

Last season, Roed was a member of the Anderson Cup (USHL Regular Season Champions) winning Tri-City Storm, where he primarily lined up on the left wing of the second line. In 65 games played, Roed finished the season with 42 total points (23G, 19A), which placed him seventh on the Storm in points scored.

In the 2020-21 Covid season, Roed was a high school senior and split the year playing for White Bear Lake High School and the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL, while also fitting in three games with the Tri-City Storm. In his NAHL play, Roed tallied over a pint-per-game and, during the playoffs, finished at the top of the league in points scored with 13 (4G, 9A) in 9 playoff games.

A three-year starter for White Bear Lake, Roed averaged over 1.5 PPG in his high school career, recording 108 points (47G, 61A) in 70GP. After a seven-year hiatus, White Bear Lake returned to the state tournament during Roed’s sophomore season, where he tallied an assist in the team’s first-round loss to Blaine.

Lleyton Roed spent time in junior hockey with the NAHL's Minnesota Magicians and the USHL's Tri-City Storm.
