Brief recaps on how each Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference program performed over the weekend.

St. Scholastica (3-3) vs. Gustavus (0-3-1)

Thursday - St. Scholastica 10, Gustavus 3
Saturday - St. Scholastica 2, Gustavus 1

It was all St. Scholastica on Thursday, as the Saints dominated with an offensive explosion against Gustavus. Roseau-born Alec Severson sparked the victory in game one, dishing out three assists as the Saints put double-digits on the board. Former Minnetonka standout Mason Hendrickson scored once in Gustavus' loss.

Game two in this series was a bit closer, but the Saints prevailed in a one-goal overtime victory. Nick Mountain (Hill-Murray) started the game off with a goal for Gustavus. St. Scholastica scores in the second period as Nathan Adrian (Roseau) ties the game up. The game ends up going to overtime, where Bryce Johnson (Roseau) scores the game-winning goal. Former Roseau Rams made a significant impact on this series for St. Scholastica.

St. Olaf (3-1-1)

Thursday - St. Olaf 3, UW-River Falls 0
Saturday - St. Olaf 5, UW-Stevens Point 5 (UW-Stevens Point wins in shootout)

St. Olaf had a weekend of non-conference play where they played UW-River Falls and UW-Stevens Point. This was a pretty solid weekend for the traveling Oles, ending their time in River Falls with a record of 1-0-1.

The Oles dominated in game one of their weekend series, winning the opener 3-0. Thomas Lalonde (Shattuck) stood on his head with a 27-save shutout to propel the Oles to a big win.

Game two of the weekend for St. Olaf was a back-and-forth game, with the Pointers of UW-Stevens scoring. Tyler Cooper (Shattuck) scored a late goal in the third period to send the game to overtime. The UW-Stevens Point Pointers eventually got the win in a shootout.

Saint John’s (4-1-0) vs. Concordia (2-4-0)

Thursday - Saint John's 7, Concordia 3
Saturday - Saint John's 5, Concordia 1

The first period of the first game of this series was close, but the Johnnies dominated everything after that. Peter Tabor (Holy Family), Max Borst (Edina), Nick Michel (Holy Family), and Jack Olsen (Lakeville South) all made a great impact, with two points each for the Johnnies. Saint John's was very efficient, scoring 7 goals on 31 shots for a shooting percentage success rate of 22%.

Game two on Saturday was more of the same offensively for the Johnnies, scoring five times on 20 shots on goal. Lewis Crosby (Edina) and Nick Michel (Holy Family) were solid offensively, as each had three points. Bailey Huber (Holy Family) stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced, resulting in a Johnnies victory.

Saint Mary's (1-4-1)

Friday - UW-Stevens Point 8, St. Mary's 1
Saturday - UW-Superior 6, St. Mary's 1

It was a rough weekend for Saint Mary's, as they combined to get outscored 14-2. Luckily for the Cardinals, these were just non-conference games, and it will not hurt them too much, but they have to figure it out soon.

Brendan Westbrook (Pine City) had the lone goal for the Cardinals on Friday night. Jack Campion (Armstrong/Cooper) saved the Cardinals from getting shutout on Saturday.

Hamline (3-2-0)

Friday - Hamline 4, Northland College 1
Saturday - Hamline 6, UW-River Falls 5

Hamline went 2-0 on the weekend, beating two non-conference foes. In game one, Hamline forward Jackson Wille (Forest Lake) was the star, scoring one goal and assisting on another.

Game two was a high-scoring game that was a back-and-forth affair, with the teams combining for seven goals in the third period. The Pipers took a 3-1 advantage into the final frame and, at one point, led 6-3 before UW-River Falls scored twice in the final 1:33 of regulation. Fortunately for the Pipers, Kavin Lake stood tall in the final moments, finishing the game with 37 saves. Former St. Cloud Apollo standout Brandon Bisset scored two goals in the win for the Pipers, as did Sam Dabrowski.

Bethel (4-2-0)

Friday - UW-Superior 1, Bethel 0
Saturday - Bethel 4, UW-Eau Claire 3 OT

Bethel came into this 3-1 on the year and came just a bounce or two shy of picking up a pair of wins.

Travis Allen (Centennial) stopped 37 of 38 shots in Friday's gut-wrenching 1-0 loss. Allen has been a bright spot for the Royals this season, posting a save percentage of .957 and a 1.52 goals-against-average in just over 118 minutes of play.

On Saturday, Bethel bounced back with a close overtime win over UW-Eau Claire. Jack Brown (East Ridge) recorded the game-winning goal in overtime, salvaging the win after Bethel allowed the game-tying goal late in the third period.

Augsburg (3-1-1)

Friday - Augsburg 3, UW-Eau Claire 1
Saturday - Augsburg 5, Northland College 1

A 3-1 win over No. 15 UW-Eau Claire kicked off the weekend for the Auggies, which hosted both the Blugolds and Northland College at Ed Saugestad Arena. Former Minneapolis youth and prep star Jake Hale tallied the first goal of the game for the No. 5 Auggies, which saw Nick Woodward and Gavin Holland chip in single goals.

The Auggies scored three times in the second period to pull away from Northland in game two, powered by a balanced attack that included five different goal-scorers. Defenseman Mason Palmer handed out a pair of assists in the win.
