Bemidji State (4-18-1) vs. #2 Minnesota (20-3-2)

The first game started fast, with Abigail Boreen scoring a goal at the 4:40 mark in the first period. The Beavers held the Gophers to a respectable 1-0 score after the first period. The second period was when the Gophers opened it up, as Abigail Boreen scored her second goal of the game.

Peyton Hemp netted the Gophers' following two goals, making it 4-0. Abbey Murphy chipped in with a pair of goals for the Gophers' final score of 6-0. Boreen, Hemp, and Murphy all had two-goal games for the Gophers.

The second game of this series was much closer, but the Gophers pulled away late. The Gophers got on the board first in this game, as Josefin Bouveng lit the lamp at the 14:17 mark in the first period. The second period went without a goal until Abbey Murphy broke that at the 17:16 mark in the second period.

The Beavers got on the board in the second period as Claire Vekich brought the score to 1-2. The Gophers sealed the game with an early goal from Abigail Boreen in the third period.

St. Thomas (7-18-1) vs. Minnesota Duluth (19-6-1)

Friday: No. 6 Minnesota Duluth 3, St. Thomas 0

Saturday: No. 6 Minnesota Duluth 5, St. Thomas 1

The Tommies hung close in game one of this series, but couldn't find any scoring. This game was a 1-0 Bulldog lead heading into the third period when Naomi Rogge scored a power-play goal in the first minute. For the Bulldogs, it was Anneke Linser with two goals in this game. Emma Soderberg got a 12-save shutout for the Bulldogs.

Naomi Rogge and Anneke Linser both had great series for the Bulldogs; they both started the second game with goals. Rogge had two goals in the first period of the second game, and Linser had one.

The Bulldogs ended up scoring five goals unanswered, as Clara Van Wieren and Taylor Anderson added two more goals for the Bulldogs. With about four minutes left in the game, Anna Solheim scored the series' only goal for the Tommies.

Minnesota State (13-13) vs. Wisconsin (18-7-1)

Friday: Wisconsin 5, Minnesota State 2

The Badgers got a clutch series sweep this past weekend over the solid Mavericks squad.

Jesse Compher set the tone for the Badgers for this series, scoring 21 seconds into the opening period. The Mavericks would answer at the 13:43 mark, as Alexis Paddington lit the lamp. The following two Badger goals were game-changers. Maddi Wheeler and Caroline Harvey made a significant impact in the second period, both adding goals to send the Badgers up 3-1 going into the third period.

The two-goal deficit was erased to just one as Taylor Otremba got one back for the Mavericks at the start of the third period. That one-goal lead was just too much for the Mavericks, as the Badgers scored two more to put the game away.
 
In game two of this series, the Badgers played a complete game.

Once again, the Badgers scored early in the game as Brita Curl started the game off by scoring. The Mavericks swung some of the momentum back their way after a Madison Mashuga power-play goal.

The Badgers shut that down, ending the game with four unanswered goals. The Mavericks only got 12 shots on the net in this second game.

St. Cloud State (13-14) vs. Ohio State (22-2-2)

Friday: No. 1 Ohio State 6, St. Cloud State 2

Saturday: No. 1 Ohio State 3, St. Cloud State 2

Top-ranked Ohio State surged in the series' first game, kicking off the contest with three unanswered goals. The Buckeyes are the No. 1 team in the nation and flexed their offensive firepower, scoring six goals this game.

The Huskies did make it somewhat interesting, scoring two goals in the second period. The Huskies pulled within two at 4-2 at one point, but the Buckeyes took away all that momentum as Paetyn Levis scored the next goal to extend the lead to 5-2.

Game two of this series was a much different story. Sophie Jaques got the Buckeyes on the board first. The rest of the game saw both teams trade goals back and forth until, eventually, Jennifer Gardiner scored the game-winning goal 1:11 into the overtime period.

Massive shoutout to Husky goaltender Sanni Ahola for saving 44 out of 47 shots faced against the No. 1 team in the nation. The Huskies did lose in overtime, but taking the No. 1 team into overtime could be counted as a moral victory.
