There hasn't been a girls' hockey Class AA State Tournament championship game in the past four seasons without Ella Boerger.
Boerger introduced herself to the larger hockey world with three goals and eight points during the Huskies' run to the 2020 state championship, the first hockey title in the school's history. From that point on, her resume only grew.
After a runner-up finish in 2021, Boerger would win another title in 2022 and conclude her high school career with a runner-up finish in 2023. She finished with 112 goals and 231 career points in her four seasons with the Huskies. Those numbers are made all the more impressive considering her limited role as an underclassman due to the amount of talent ahead of her at Andover.
Her senior year, Boerger teamed with Isa Goettl and Maddie Brown, also a St. Thomas commit, to combine for 84 goals and 189 points against one of the state's toughest slates of opponents. Brown missed 11 games during the 2022-2023 season due to injury, and Boerger and Goettl's play without their talented tripod mate only helped solidify Boerger's case for the award.
One of three GHS Player of the Year finalists committed to St. Thomas for next season, Boerger should become a key contributor for the Tommies early in her collegiate career.
Boerger saved her best stats for her last season, racking up 41 goals and 78 points in 30 games for the Huskies.
