The 2009's and 2010's battle for USEL supremacy while the 2008's make their 2023 league debut.

Logjam at top of 2009 Division makes for intriguing playoffs

T. James Jackson, East Coast South

Through two weeks, there is a three-way tie for first in the 2009 Division. SDP and Windy City both come into playoff weekend with identical 6-3-1 records, with Little Caesars docking in First Place Harbor with a 5-2-3 mark.

East Coast North and East Coast South aren’t far behind among the 2009 teams, with ECN’s 3-4-3 record giving the team nine standings points. ECS carries a record of 4-6 into the weekend.

Individually, East Coast South’s T. James Jackson paces the age group on both goals (10) and points (16), thanks in large part to a four-goal performance in last weekend’s 8-2 win over the Chicago Mission.

Fellow East Coast South skaters Ethan Gingeleskie and Cameron Minella are among the quartet of players tied for second in scoring with 11 points each. The other two players with 11 points are Vincent Arnone (Little Caesars) and Cameron Anderson (Windy City).

Goaltender Greyson Mielock of Little Caesars rates best among 2009 netminders in both goals-against-average (1.46) and save percentage (.935).

Cam Anderson, Windy City

SDP, Little Caesars continue to lead 2010's heading into Minneapolis

Joey Cullen, SDP

It still appears to be a two-horse race in the 2010 Division, with SDP (8-1) and Little Caesars (7-2) nearly neck-and-neck at 16 and 14 standings points, respectively.

East Coast North (3-5-1) is a dangerous third team in the standings coming into the playoffs, while East Coast South (2-7) and Windy City (1-7-1) round out the field.

Unfortunately, one of just two teams to defeat Little Caesars, Chicago Mission, will not participate in playoff weekend. Taking Mission’s place will be Minnesota-based ProHybrid, which should add some flavor to the 2010 slate of games.

SDP’s Joey Cullen holds a sizable lead in the 2010 scoring race with 15 goals and 25 points. Little Caesars’ RJ Thompson ranks second with 18 total points, followed by SDP’s Bo Skelton and Little Caesars’ Ryker Kesler. Skelton and Kesler are tied for third overall with 16 points.

Dante Balch of Little Caesars leads all goaltenders with a 1.50 GAA, followed by SDP’s Carter Nash at 1.75.
