Three forwards, a defenseman, and a goaltender will move on to the prep powerhouse in Faribault for the 2024-2025 season.

Like flowers in the spring, hockey rosters begin popping up around Labor Day as prep schools and Tier I programs put the finishing touches on their 2024-2025 teams.

Last year, Shattuck-St. Mary's welcomed eight Minnesota natives to its ranks. Among those eight were Andover's Nolan Fitzhenry, who finished with 100 points last season, plus Minnetonka product Boone Chartier (66 points), Chaska/Chanhassen's Brayden Haffer (50 points). Minnetonka goaltender Cade Nystrom posted a 28-1 overall record for the national runner-up Sabres.

For the 2024-2025 campaign, five Minnesota youth players will trek south to Faribault for their chance to wear the Sabres' iconic SSM sweaters.

Henry Meier
2023-2024 Team: Woodbury Bantam AA

Meier is a skilled forward with soft hands and a penchant for scoring a pretty goal. Before joining the Woodbury Bantam AA squad last season, Meier tallied nine goals and fifteen points during Bantam Elite League play. Meier and the Predators bowed out of the Bantam AA postseason during the South Region tournament.

Westin Rehm
2023-2024 Team: Moorhead Peewee AA

Rehm backstopped another strong Moorhead Peewee AA team to a 39-14-3 record last season and an appearance in the 2024 Peewee AA State Tournament. Rehm posted a goals-against-average of 1.67 and a .907 save percentage during the Spuds' run through Region play. This offseason, Rehm advanced to the Minnesota Hockey High Performance Boys 14 camp in St. Cloud, where he stopped 66 of 72 shots faced.

Sidenote: Rehm is also a champion livestock raiser, earning the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb title during the 2023 Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo.

Henry Meier stood out last summer playing for the Bruins in the Bantam Elite League.

Soren Saumweber
2023-2024 Team: Roseville Peewee A

Saumweber powered Roseville's Peewee A team to a third-place finish at last year's Peewee A State Tournament, tying for the tourney lead in scoring with two goals and nine points in the Raiders' three games.

Last winter, Saumweber led all skaters with nine goals and 17 points en route to a runner-up finish at the YHH Lumberjack Cup. The Raiders finished last season with a 47-4-6 record and were the top-ranked team according to NOW Rankings.

Bo Skelton
2023-2024 Team: Minnetonka Bantam A

A passing wizard and strong skater, Skelton is one of two members of last year's Minnetonka Bantam A team to make the move to the Sabres this season.

Skelton helped the Skippers to a 38-16-3 record last season and tallied five goals and 14 points during his one stint of Bantam Elite League play. Skelton also had a strong showing during this spring's HP 14 camp, totaling six points in five games.

Ben Sorenson
2023-2024 Team: Minnetonka Bantam A

Like Skelton, Sorenson skated for Minnetonka's Bantam A squad last season, manning the blueline as an athletic, rangy defenseman. Sorenson recorded three points in three Region games last spring and racked up three goals and seven assists during Minnesota Hockey Districts Exhibition play.

New Shattuck-St. Mary's forward Bo Skelton comes form an athletic family. His father, Colby, played football for Harvard and was named Team MVP in 1996.
