Catch up on how all six of Minnesota's Division I men's hockey programs did over the weekend.

Bemidji State (6-6-1) vs. St Thomas (3-6-4)

Bemidji State's Kirklan Irey stayed hot and opened the scoring only 3:35 into game one. The Tommies responded with a goal of their own less than five minutes later, and the teams headed into the first intermission, which was tied at 1-1. In the second, freshman defender Isa Parekh, brother of Zayne Parekh, snapped the puck home from the point to retake the lead for the Beavers. However, less than three minutes later, Edina's Liam Malmquist answered with his own power-play goal to retie the game. The Beavers went on to outshoot St. Thomas 8-0 in the third period, the game ended in a tie, with Bemidji State claiming the shootout victory.

Saturday night's rematch opened with a scoreless first period, and the second almost followed suit, but St. Thomas's Casy Laylin lit the lamp with 2:17 remaining in the period to put the Tommies in front. Bemidji State opened the period on a two-man advantage and tied the game up at 1-1 only 36 seconds in. With 8:19 left in regulation, Carter Randklev sprung Reilly Funk for a breakaway opportunity, and Funk buried the game-winner. The 2-1 win brings the Beavers record against the Tommies to 7-1-2 over their last 10 meetings.

Both teams will be active this coming holiday weekend, with Bemidji State going to battle against the No. 14 North Dakota Fighting Hawks (7-6-0) in a home-and-home series. St. Thomas will return home and play Lake Superior State (4-6-1), with puck drop at 7:07 PM on 11/29 and 6:07 PM on 11/30.

Carter Randklev, Bemidji State

No. 4 Minnesota (12-2-0) at Notre Dame (5-9-0)

Trailing 1-0 early, Brody Lamb buried a quick one-timer for his team-leading ninth goal to tie the game at 1-1. Period two was bookended by power-play goals from defenseman Sam Rinzel, resulting in a 4-2 lead at the end of two. Opening period three, still on the power play due to a five-minute major, Aaron Huglen snapped home a shot to extend the Gopher's lead to 5-2 and put the game out of reach. Both teams added a late goal to end in a 6-3 final, with goaltender Nathan Airey making 25 saves in the win for Minnesota.

Game two saw Notre Dame open the scoring for the second night in a row, but a late-period goal from Oliver Moore tied it at 1-1. The Gophers' leading scorer, Jimmy Snuggerud, scored back-to-back to make it 3-1 early in the second period. However, goals from Notre Dame's Danny Nelson and Brennan Ali made it all square again heading into the final frame. With 6:45 remaining in regulation, Chaska native Brodie Ziemer scored the go-ahead goal and eventual game-winner. Minnesota added an empty net goal to seal the 5-3 victory and sweep on the road. For the first time this season, Coach Motzko started Nathan Airey in net both nights, and with the two wins, Airey's record improved to a perfect 8-0 start.

The Gophers will return home and square off against the Alaska Nanooks (4-6-2), with puck drop at 7:00 PM on 11/29 and 5:00 PM on 11/30.

Minnesota Duluth (5-8-0) vs. No 9 Western Michigan (8-1-1)

After a sweep the weekend prior, Minnesota Duluth's poor form returned this weekend with a sweep at home at the hands of the Western Michigan Bulldogs. With freshman Max Plante back in the lineup and the Bulldogs trailing 1-0 early in the first, Max fed a perfect cross-crease pass across to his brother Zam Plante to tie the game at 1-1. The second saw the ice tilt in Western Michigan's favor as the Broncos scored three unanswered to lead 4-1 at the second intermission. Zam Plante lit the lamp once more to bring the Bulldogs within two in the third, but there would be no comeback as the game ended 5-2 Western Michigan. Broncos' goaltender Cameron Rowe had a great night between the pipes, making 42 saves.

Game two of the series started with a scoreless first, with Bulldog goaltender Adam Gajan saving all 15 shots on net in the opening period. Hermantown's Ty Hanson scored from the top of the circles to open the scoring and put the Bulldogs ahead 12:25 into the second. A five-minute major penalty on UMD ensued, and the Broncos capitalized, scoring two quick power-play goals to lead 2-1 at the second intermission. Western Michigan added two more goals in the final frame to win 4-1. Warroad native Grant Slukynsky tallied two assists both nights, bringing his season points total to 10 (2G, 8A) through the first 10 games.

The Bulldogs will have a bye weekend before heading to warmer weather for more conference play against Arizona State the following weekend.

Zam Plantę, Minnesota Duluth

No. 17 Minnesota State (10-4-2) at Michigan Tech (6-4-0)

In Houghton, Michigan, Willmar-native Kaden Bohlsen opened the scoring, notching his first goal of the season, but the home Huskies countered and led 2-1 at the break. A goalless second period ensued before a dominant third period by the Mavericks, who scored four unanswered goals to win 5-2. Rhett Pitlick's empty net goal puts him solely at the top of the team's leaderboard, tallying five goals and eight assists in his first 16 games with Minnesota State.

Mavericks' goaltender Alex Tracy stopped all 12 shots on net in the opening frame of game two to keep the game scoreless. Michigan Tech took an early lead in the second period before Zach Krajnik capitalized on a shorthanded breakaway opportunity to tie the game. With 7:27 remaining in the third, a bouncing puck from the point by Minnesota State's Ralfs Bergmanis resulted in the go-ahead goal, and 36 seconds later, the team added an insurance goal, winning 3-1 to claim the road sweep. Stillwater graduate Adam Eisele had a huge three-point night for the Mavericks, with Alex Tracy making 32 saves in the victory.

Leading the CCHA standings with 18 points earned through their first eight conference games, Minnesota State will be off this coming weekend before playing Bowling Green at home on 12/6 and 12/7.

Adam Eisele, Minnesota State

No. 11 St. Cloud State (9-4-0) at No. 7 Colorado College (9-2-1)

A powerplay goal by Verner Miettinen midway through the first period opened the scoring and resulted in the Huskies leading 1-0 at the first intermission. St. Cloud State mustered only four shots on net in the second period but scored on two of them, resulting in a 3-1 lead heading into the third. The Huskies' third goal was a beauty, with Austin Burnevik scoring in close on a nifty backhand shot. Chaska's Max Burkholder scored late in the third period for Colorado College to bring it to 3-2, but the Huskies held on for the win. Isak Posch had a 25-save night for St. Cloud State, his ninth win in net of the season.

A narrow victory in game one was followed by another close one-goal game in the rematch Saturday night. A rare goalless game ended 0-0, with the Huskies slightly outshot 32-25 at the end of regulation. In overtime, the teams traded punches before Philippe Blais-Savoie beat Isak Posch up high to claim the overtime winner and split the series.

The Huskies will return on break for the holiday weekend before hosting the Omaha Mavericks the following weekend, with puck drop at 7:30 PM on 12/6 and 6:00 PM on 12/7.
