Big second and third powers Hornets to win over Blaine

After going up 1-0 after the first period, the Edina White Peewee B’s poured in four goals in both the second and third periods en route to a 9-0 win over the Bengals. Henrik Morrell led all skaters with a hat trick and two assists, while Graham Nulty potted two goals and also assisted on two others.

Calvin Groat, Zack Heinz, Gavin Downey, and Robert Varekca each scored once in the win for the Hornets.

Mound Westonka holds on for win over Chaska/Chanhassen

In what some have called the "Hawk Bowl," the White Hawks of Mound Westonka held off a late charge by the Chaska/Chanhassen Stormhawks for a 6-4 win on Friday in Bloomington.

The White Hawks flew to a 4-0 lead over the Stormhawks through two periods, getting two goals from William Beazley and one each from Bentley Skaar and Jacob Steahl.

Undeterred, Chaska/Chanhassen tallied four goals in nine minutes during the third period, tying the game at 4-4 with just 2:08 to play in regulation. Beazley proved to be the hero in the end, scoring the game-winner for Mound Westonka with 1:35 to play, and the win was cemented by Ian Zimmerman.

Bloomington Jefferson defends home ice with aplomb

After a scoreless first period against Woodbury, the Bloomington Jefferson Peewee B's remembered that the "B" in BIG stood for Bloomington.

The Jaguars got three unanswered goals, including two from standout Will Tisdell, to polish off the Predators 3-1 in their opening game of the Gobbler.

Riding a bit of a hot streak, the Jaguars have won six of their last eight games, according to YHH's NOW Rankings.

Northern neighbors make the trip across the border

Tariffs be darned, a gaggle of Canadians made their way south to the Twin Cities for the weekend, taking the ice in uniforms reminiscent of the former Minnesota North Stars’ away kits and full of gumption.

Made up of the five townships of Blake, Crooks, Pardee, Pearson, and Scoble, the town of Neebing’s population was last pegged at just over 2,000 according to a 2016 census. The Hawks did their homeland proud on Friday morning, battling Woodbury to a dramatic 3-2 final.

Mankato gives thanks for netminder

The Mankato Bantam B's will surely be in the holiday spirit after Friday's 2-0 win over Edina Green, and goaltender Andrew King is undoubtedly worth being thanked.

King stopped all 29 shots he faced to earn the shutout over the Hornets, and it's not the first time King has been a star between the pipes in a big game. During the 2023 Little Falls Peewee Tournament, King allowed just one goal in four contests, earning three shutouts while leading the Mankato Peewee B1's to the tournament championship.

Xavier Lauwagie scored both goals in the win for Mankato, which is now 1-0 in the Gobbler's Pool C.
