Out-of-town teams add tourney flavor
Mega associations that surround the metro make up the bulk of metro-area tournaments. That's just simple geography. But when a tournament field consists of 84 teams, a few new spices are bound to be added to the rack.
This season, the Danglefest features groups from North Dakota (Bismarck, West Fargo, and Minot) and Canada (Thunder Bay). In addition to those teams, squads from the far reaches of Mineesota's northland (Grand Rapids-Greenway, Duluth, and Rock Ridge) have made the trip to Blaine this weekend.
Throw in multiple teams from Rochester, and you have a potpourri of regional pride brewing in the National Sports Center.
Win, lose, or draw, Grand Rapids/Greenway is sure to have a good time in Blaine.
