Catch up on how all six of Minnesota's Division I men's hockey programs did over the weekend.

Bemidji State (11-15-4) at Michigan Tech (15-11-2)

Looking to avenge the 5-9 loss in their last meeting back in mid-December, game one saw Bemidji State score first midway through the second, and Eric Martin doubled the score later in the period to lead 2-0 after two. It was a wild third period, with six goals scored and Michigan Tech clawing one back early in the period to make it 2-1. In a two-minute span midway through the period, the Beavers added three goals in quick succession to put the game out of reach at 5-1.

The Huskies tallied the last two goals to end in a 5-3 Bemidji State win, with Mattias Sholl making 26 saves and five different Beavers recording a goal in the team's tenth win this season.

Trailing 1-0 8:08 into period one of game two, freshman Alexi Sylvestre scored his first collegiate goal to tie it, and Kasper Magnussen put the Beavers in front 2-1 shortly after. Both teams added another goal in the back half of the opening frame to result in a 3-2 Bemidji State lead after one. Michigan Tech tallied the lone second-period goal to head to the third all square at 3-3. The teams continued to trade blows in the third, and with a 4-4 scoreline and 3:31 left on the clock, Jaksen Panzer (East Grand Forks) fired home his second goal of the season to put Bemidji State back in front.

On a power play with their goaltender pulled, Michigan Tech's Elias Jansson completed his hat trick with only 20 seconds remaining to tie the game and force overtime. However, Bemidji State got the last laugh and won overtime via an end-to-end finish from Jackson Jutting, his ninth goal this season.

After claiming their first sweep this season, Bemidji State will have an off weekend before suiting to play Bowling Green at home on Friday, 2/21, and Saturday, 2/22.

Jackson Jutting, Bemidji State

Minnesota Duluth (10-15-1) at Omaha (16-11-1)

Facing a historically formidable opponent for the Bulldogs, Omaha took a 1-0 lead only 2:13 into the game, and Minnesota Duluth unfortunately never led in the contest. In the second, the Bulldogs took full advantage of their first power play opportunity and tied it at 1-1, with Callum Arnott – nephew of ex-NHL'er Jason Arnott – scoring his fourth goal in his freshman campaign.

Omaha retook the lead only 18 seconds into period three and never looked back, with Jimmy Glynn making it 3-1 minutes later and the Bulldogs eventually falling 4-1 in game one.

The Bulldogs welcomed back freshman goaltender Adam Gajan in game two of the series, making his first start in net since 11/23/24 due to a lower-body injury. Trailing a goal early for the second night in a row, Zam Plante scored his fifth goal of the season to tie it, but the team headed into the locker room down 2-1. In the middle frame, the Bulldogs fired 21 shots on net, but netminder Simon Latkoczy kept everything out, leading to a 3-1 Minnesota Duluth deficit at the second intermission.

UMD came out flying once more in the third, and while the shots again favored the Bulldogs (17-4 UMD), Omaha added two additional goals before a late Jayson Shaugabay goal ended in a 5-2 loss.

The Bulldogs will return home to face No. 13 Arizona State (17-10-1), a team that swept UMD in their first meeting back in early December. Puck drop at Amsoil Arena will be at 7:07 PM on Friday and 6:07 PM on Saturday.

Callum Arnott, Minnesota Duluth

No. 17 Minnesota State (20-8-2) vs. Augustana (16-9-3)

Marking the first meeting between these two teams this season, game one was scoreless through the first, with the Mavericks outshooting Augustana 12-6. Kaden Bohlsen opened the scoring 6:18 into the second, but Farmington native Quinn Rudrud answered for the Vikings shortly after to retie the game. The period's final goal saw Rhett Pitlick locate Adam Eisele in front for a tap-in goal to put Minnesota State ahead 2-1 heading into the third.

With 7:16 left on the clock, the Mavericks added a power-play goal to make it 3-1, and the team sailed to a 4-1 win, with goaltender Alex Tracy making 25 saves and Minnesota State regaining first place in the conference standings.

Opposite to the night prior, which saw no scoring in the first period, all the goals in game two were tallied in the opening frame. Rhett Pitlick received a nice stretch pass before splitting the defense to open the scoring, with sophomore Fin Williams scoring his first goal of the season to bring it to 2-0 later in the period.

With 2:51 to go, the Vikings struck back with a goal from their Minnesotan second line, with Payton Matsui (Lakeville) scoring in front and assists going to Garrett Drotts (Grand Rapids) and Tyler Hennen (Hallock). Augustana went on to outshoot Minnesota State 20-12 in the final two periods, but Alex Tracy kept everything out to secure the 2-1 win en route to his twentieth win in net this season.

After the weekend'sweekend sweep, Minnesota State will have a bye before closing out the season with matchups against Lake Superior State (on 2/21 & 2/22) and Bemidji State (on 2/28 and 3/1).

St. Cloud State (11-16-1) at No. 4 Western Michigan (20-5-1)

The Huskies' downfall continued against a Western Michigan team that entered the weekend having won seven of its previous eight games. The Broncos Tristan Lemyre opened the scoring 1:19 into the game and added another goal later in the period to put St. Cloud State in a 2-0 hole going into the second.

A goalless second period ensued, and Western Michigan added two late third-period goals en route to a 4-0 shutout of the Huskies. Warroad's Grant Slukynsky tallied an assist on the first three goals in the game to mark his first collegiate three-point night.

Game two was more of the same, with Western Michigan scoring early before Grant Slukynsky scored to make it 2-0 with still 16:27 left on the clock in period one. Trailing 3-0 to start the second, Austin Burnevik scored the Huskies' first goal of the weekend 1:16 into the period, his twelfth goal this season. By the midway point of the period, the Huskies had allowed two additional Western Michigan goals to trail 5-1 after two, with the Broncos scoring the sole third-period goal to win 6-1.

Three Minnesotans played a role in the Broncos' 20th win this season, with Grant Slukynsky and Alex Bump both tallying two points and goaltender Hampton Slukynsky making 25 saves in net for his sixth win this season.

St. Cloud State will look to get their season back on the rails with an upcoming bye weekend before returning to play Colorado College at home on 2/21 and 2/22.

St. Thomas (12-13-5) at Bowling Green (15-10-4)

Against a team the Tommies skated to a 2-2 tie and 6-3 win back in November at home, game one this weekend saw St. Thomas allow two goals in a span of only 12 seconds to trail 2-0 after one. The Falcons added a third early in the second en route to a 3-0 deficit after two, with Bowling Green outshooting the Tommies 20-14 through two. St. Thomas fell behind even further late in regulation before Cooper Gay broke the Falcons' shutout bid to end in a 4-1 loss.

It was the Jake Sibell show in game two, with Sibell earning his first start in net since 1/17/25 and keeping the game scoreless through one with 24 saves. Woodbury's Lucas Wahlin broke the deadlock 40 seconds into period two to put St. Thomas in front, and Sibell added another 17 saves in the middle frame to keep the score at 1-0 through two.

With 11:44 to go in regulation, Wahlin jumped on a loose puck in the neutral zone and doubled the Tommies lead off a breakaway goal, bringing his season points total to 28 through 30 games played. Minutes later, a Bowling Green power play resulted in a Falcons goal and an end to Sibell's shutout, but St. Thomas held on for a 2-1 win to split the series. In his fifth win of the season, Sibell made a program record 57 saves in the victory.

Up next is a bye weekend before the Tommies return to face Northern Michigan on the road on 2/21 and 2/22.
