A one-game lead is a lead nonetheless, and that margin currently separates the 2012 Thieves 37’s from their Pool A rivals. The Thieves 37s are 2-0 after day one, trouncing Vice Teal 9-3 and SDP Blue 8-1. Hudson Johnson is the leader in the clubhouse so far with three goals and seven points for the Thieves 37’s.
Pool B features a tie for first place, with the Metro Selects and SDP both 2-0. Metro Selects topped Machine Orange 6-3 and Vice Purple 2-1 on Friday, while SDP downed Northern Wings 8-3 and Machine Orange 9-3. Ivan Bannikov, Gabriel Janijikian, and Bobby Mackay are tied with three points apiece for Metro Selects. SDP’s Caleb Schultz leads all skaters in the 2012 Division with five goals and nine points.
Ray Gerlach and 2013 SDP are 2-0 after one day of competition.
2013
The lone division without multiple pools, SDP and Southeast Elite are tied at the top of the 2013 Division standings with identical 2-0 records. SDP cruised past Lake Effect 7-1 and blanked Northern Wings 3-0, led by the three-point trio of Ryan Roof, McCoy O’Leary, and Brody Kutz.
Southeast Elite squeaked past Thieves 37’s 3-2 in game one, then nearly burnt out the scoreboard in a 10-6 win over Lake Effect in the nightcap. Casey Catsam leads Southeast Elite with six goals, followed by Cole Brundage’s three goals and five points.

2014
HHD leads Pool A after day one, beating Minnesota Machine 3-1 and eking out a 5-4 win over Southeast Elite. HHD has gotten balanced scoring so far, with six players tied atop the leaderboard with two points each. SDP Blue, SDP, and the Northern Wings are all tied with 1-1 records through two games in Pool A.
The Thieves 37’s are 2-0 in Pool B, giving them a one-game edge over Minnesota Machine for the pool’s top spot. The Thieves 37’s topped SDP 5-2 and pulled out a 4-3 win over the Northern Wings on Friday. Hudson Braaten (four goals) and Tyson Holmgren (one goal, three assists) lead the way in scoring.

2015
The 2015 Division has already seen three teams jump out to early leads in the standings, as the Thieves 37’s, Minnesota Machine, and Hometown Hockey remain perfect after the first day of competition.
The Thieves 37’s, who primarily hail from northern Minnesota, blanked their rival Northern Wings 5-0 to open the tournament, then edged Southeast Elite 4-2. Marshall Lafrance has factored into more than half of the team’s goals, scoring twice and dishing out three assists.
Minnesota Machine is +23 in goal differential after day one, thumping SDP 10-1 and HHD 15-2 on Friday. Charlie Kelly scored five goals in the win over HHD and leads the team in scoring with six points. Louie Sweeney, Easton Silva, Maverick White, Steeger Patton, and Jordy Fuller all have four points for Machine.
Like Machine, Hometown Hockey enjoyed light sledding on Friday, beating HHD 12-1 and the Northern Wings 8-3. Breckon Hack leads all 2015’s in total points, registering four goals and eight points on the day.

2016
SDP, Southeast Elite, and the Northern Wings have staked their claim to the day one mountaintop among 2016’s, with each group posting a record of 2-0 through two games of pool play. SDP has yet to allow a goal, beating the Thieves 37’s 15-0 and Minnesota Machine 6-0. A trio of players - Odin Okposo, Luca Brooks, and Finn Leeser lead SDP in scoring with six points apiece.
Miles Artze and Beckett Burris lead Southeast Elite in scoring with five and four points, respectively. So far, both players have totaled four goals in wins over Minnesota Machine and HHD. The Northern Wings gutted out two wins today, beating HHD 6-3 and slipping past Hockey Factory 4-3. Keenan Finnegan leads the Northern Wings in scoring with two goals and four points.
