SDP's Caleb Schultz leads all 2012 skaters with 15 points in four games.
2012
In the tournament’s oldest age group, the Thieves 37’s will face the Metro Selects in one semifinal, while the SDP draws Vice Teal.
The Thieves (3-0-1) came within a goal of a perfect 4-0 record during pool play, winning their first three games before tying with Hometown Hockey 5-5 on Saturday. Hudson Johnson (3-7-10) leads a familiar group, one that has achieved consistent springtime success over the past few years. Metro Selects has a staunch goaltender in Trey Pipe, and could be looking for revenge after being blitzed 10-4 by SDP on Saturday night.
Vice Teal (3-1) will look to slow down hard-charging SDP in the second semifinal. Lucas Rogers (2-5-7) and Parker Dattolo (2-4-6) lead Vice Teal in scoring, and will be relied upon to match an SDP group that has won all four of its games by five or more goals.
SDP (4-0) wields the division’s leading scorer in Caleb Schultz (9-6-15) and has proven it can score goals no matter who is on the ice. The only foreseeable hiccup for SDP could be overconfidence, given that the team has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 39-10.
2013
All six 2013 Division teams will play at least once more on Sunday. SDP currently leads the division with a 3-0-1 record. McCoy O'Leary leads the team in scoring with six points.
Isaac Emard and the 2014 Thieves 37's enter Sunday with a spotless 4-0 record.
2014
The undefeated Thieves 37’s (4-0) will duel Minnesota Machine (2-2) in one of the 2014 Division semifinals. The Thieves have shown they can win in a variety of ways, pulling out a one-goal win over the Northern Wings 4-3 on Friday, then sending both Saturday contests to running time in a 5-0 victory over HHD and a 9-1 win over SDP Blue. Tyson Holmgren leads the Thieves on the scoreboard with four goals and nine points. Minnesota Machine has squeezed two wins between a pair of losses so far in the tournament. Grant Martinson is the team’s leading scorer with three goals and five points, followed by Conner Franek and Jace Lindboe with four points each.
HHD enters the semifinals with a record of 3-1, the same as their playoff adversary, the Northern Wings. HHD bounced back after a 5-0 loss to the Thieves with a 7-1 win over the Metro Selects to advance to the tourney playoffs. With five points apiece, Levi Berzin and Declan Pfeffer lead HHD in scoring. The Northern Wings were just a bounce or two from being the top seed in the playoff, falling to the Thieves 37’s 4-3 on Friday. With wins over the Metro Selects and Minnesota Machine on Saturday, the Northern Wings are riding a hot streak into the Sunday slate. Easton Krenzen leads the team with seven goals and 12 points.
Beau Reda is tied for the scoring lead among 2016 Northern Wings players.
2015
Minnesota Machine (4-0) leads the way as the No. 1 seed for the 2015 Division playoffs, having outscored its competition 41-5 through four wins. Charlie Kelly (9-3-12) and Steeger Patton (6-5-11) lead the Machine in scoring, and every player on the roster has recorded at least two or more points thus far. Fourth-seeded Southeast Elite comes into the semifinal round with a record of 1-3, and is led by Trent O’Neal (six goals).
A pair of undefeated teams will square off in the second semifinal of the 2015 Division. The Thieves 37’s and Hometown Hockey both sport unblemished 4-0 records. Hometown boasts the division’s leading scorer in Breckon Hack (8-8-16), and every player has gotten on the scoresheet at least twice this weekend. The Thieves have one of the top goaltenders in the age group in Mason Petrie and are powered by a balanced scoring effort. Six players have four or more points for the Thieves, led by Marshall Lafrance’s three goals and six points.
2016
After re-seeding the teams based on overall record, the top four squads advancing to Sunday’s semifinals include SDP, Minnesota Machine, the Northern Wings, and Southeast Elite. SDP brings a 4-0 record into the semifinals, led by Luca Brooks (10 goals, six assists, 16 points) and Odon Okposo (9-6-15). Minnesota Machine is the No. 4 seed of the playoff round, entering Sunday’s semifinal with a record of 2-2. Kyan Hansen leads the Machine in scoring with five goals and nine points, including a hat trick and assist in Saturday’s 6-3 win over the Northern Wings.
Beau Reda (6-2-8) and Keenan Finnegan (5-3-8) lead the Northern Wings into the semifinals with a 3-1 record, suffering their first loss on Saturday. The Wings will face high-powered Southeast Elite, which features three players tied with seven points apiece - Miles Artze (5-2-7), Leo Fang (4-3-7), and Boris Svoboda (3-4-7).
