The final "Major" tournament of the AA season concluded Sunday and the long standing rivalry between Moorhead and Tonka came down to a one goal win. This time Moorhead eeks out a win to beat the Skippers for the second time in five tries to take home the famed white bear trophy won at the Moose Goheen Memorial.
While a few teams have hit their mid-season wall, Spring Lake Park-Coon Rapids goes to Faribault and beats #1 ranked Shattuck-St. Mary's Sunday. Quite the win for the Red Panthers (and community-based hockey)!

In a first for our new ranker essentially the entire top 10 remains in the exact same position. #3 Osseo Maple Grove did lose to #8 Bloomington Jefferson but also on the flip side recently Jefferson has also lost to an unranked team so inclined to leave things as they are for now. We do have two tournament winners from this past weekend in #6 Minnetonka who won the Proctor tournament and #7 Moorhead who won the BWW Woodchipper in Fargo. The only change to the ranking is #10 now belongs to Thief River Falls, into looking closer at them. While they were idle this week they have recently defeated #4 Hopkins on January 10th.

We had some good tournament play in this division this week with lots to report, in that same comment though the Top 5 remain the same. #1 Prior Lake picked up the home tournament win at the Laker Shootout defeating #7 Edina White in Overtime. #2 Cottage Grove picked up the Adam Johnson Classic in Hibbing. It was a good weekend for Minnetonka Bantam B hockey as #4 Minnetonka Blue picked up the Cougar Classic Championship in Lakeville. Whilst #6 Minnetonka Black picked up the BWW Woodchipper Title in Fargo. Woodbury Royal had a tough weekend tying and losing to West St Paul and get put on notice for next week.

Not much movement in PWAA this week. Woodbury and Andover fared well in the Moose Goheen last weekend. The Preds host the John Erickson Memorial in two weeks. Four top-10 teams will be there (Woodbury, Edina, Andover and Moorhead).
There was some action in District 6 play last week. OMG beats Tonka, Tonka beats Edina. NOW Rankings likes the Hornets a little more than the Staff does at this point.

It appears the top of this division needed an extra week to recuperate. Similar to The Bantam A division this week the entire Top 10 doesnt change as all teams did exactly was expected of them. Orono holds onto the #1 spot after picking up two league wins. The lone tournament winner of the group is #6 Cloquet who picked up their home tournament win in the Founder's Cup.

We have a weird one this week as several teams had hiccups and we don't really know what to make of it. So we are going to leave the Top 10 teams the same but in a different order. Edina White takes over the #1 spot after picking up a win at the John Wensloff Tournament in Roseau. Grand Rapids Orange picks up the home tournament win at the Star of the North and moves up to #6 in the rankings. Osseo/Maple Grove Black took a tumble from first to land at #7 this week. Woodbury White, Orono and Edina Green all took some lumps this weekend as well but have performed consistently enough on the year to not drop out yet.

Only 12 games played in the T10 this week, but still a few movers as we all prepare for the Squirtacular. Undefeated Hastings keeps rolling, as does Tonka, OMG and Andover.
Statistically there are a lot of very good 218 teams this year. Bemidji, Duluth, East Grand Forks, Hermantown and Moorhead all have loaded rosters. Hermantown is the northern association to skate off with the coveted skates trophy.

This grouping was pretty light for play ahead of the big Squirtacular weekend. We did get a couple results though but not much changes our mind of where teams lie currently. Duluth B1 retains the #1 spot with Minnetonka White right behind them. One note is that Minnetonka Blue won the O-Town Showdown in Owatonna, filling out a good weekend for Minnetonka teams across most divisions. #8 Eden Prairie and #9 Chaska/Chanhassen skated to a 5-5 tie.
