Zach Michaelis leads the 2002 Blades last Summer during The Brick in Edmonton.

The AAA Hockey season is upon us.  A short two to three week break from the state tournament and we are off to the races. After two seasons of MN Association hockey, we will dip our toe into AAA hockey. Editor’s Note: each week we feel there has been movement (i.e. tournaments of relevance), we will post rankings.  Usually on Monday or Tuesday following a tournament.  We will follow 1999 to 2004 age groups. In addition to ranking the Top 5 teams at each level, we thought we would rank the top 10 teams in Minnesota overall.  Here goes:

1999: 1. Machine Orange 2. Icemen 3. Lake Superior Stars 4. Blades 5. Reebok Nationals

2000: 1. Machine Orange 2. EuroAmerican 3. The Edge 4. Blades 5. Competitive Edge

2001: 1. Blades 2. Machine Orange 3. Northern Elite 4. Legacy 5. Ice Edge Black

2002: 1. Blades 2. Machine Orange 3. EuroAmerican 4. Lake Superior Stars 5. Miracle Gold

2003: 1. Blades 2. Machine Orange 3. Legacy 4. Miracle Gold 5. Lake Superior Stars

2004: 1.Miracle Gold 2. Blades 3. Machine Orange 4. Legacy 5. Reebok Nationals
