The Moose Goheen Squirt Tournament is one of the best Squirt Tournaments every year.  Featuring top teams from all over the Metro area and a few from the outstate. Both the A and B brackets are stacked with marquee names.  Oddly enough, the B tournament is more star studded this year with the B Pool especially tough (WBL White, Andover Black, MPLS Purple, and Woodbury White). 

Thursday Results

A Games: Andover > MPLS (6-1), White Bear Lake (5-0), Edina White > Champlin Park (5-3), and Woodbury > Buffalo (8-0)

B Games: WBL (White) > Woodbury (White) (3-0), WBL (Black) > Rosemount (Green) (4-2), and WBL (Orange) > Blaine (5-2)

Commentary: Edina flexes some D6 muscle in the D6 v. D10 debate, WBL B teams continue to shine, and Andover wins in a misleading 6-1 affair over the Storm.

Friday Results

A Games: Sibley > Centennial (4-2), Lakeville South vs. Champlin Park (1-1), WBL > Moorhead (7-2), and Edina White > Grand Forks (5-0)

B Games: WBL (Black) > Lakeville North (6-1), Minneapolis (Purple) > WBL (White) (4-1), Rosemount (Green) vs. OMG (Orange) (3-3), Moorhead > STMA (8-0), and Andover (Black) > Woodbury (White) (2-1)

Commentary: White Bear and Edina are 2-0 in A on a collision course toward Andover and the B Pool games tomorrow in the B tourney will all be good games.

A Games: Andover > Buffalo (8-0), MPLS > Woodbury (4-2), Champlin Park > Grand Forks (3-2), Edina > Lakeville South (5-0), WBL > Centennial (6-2), Moorhead > Sibley (4-0), Andover > Woodbury (6-1), Grand Forks > Lakeville South (3-0), MPLS > Buffalo (13-0), and Moorhead > Centennial (5-2).

Commentary: Final Four features four top teams from four separate metro districts. Moorhead misses final four by giving up two late goals to Centennial in 5-2 win. YHH sees Andover as the best team on paper, but don’t overlook MPLS (playing very well right now), Edina (possible the hottest team in MN), or White Bear. Should be some great games.

B Games: Andover > MPLS (4-2…#1 vs. #2), Blaine > STMA (7-2), WBLO > Moorhead (5-3), OMG > LVN (8-0), Andover > WBLW (6-2), MPLS > Woodbury (7-1), WBLB > OMG (3-2), Rosemount > LVN (7-2), WBLO > STMA (18-0…C’mon Man!), and Moorhead > Blaine (6-2).

Commentary: Final Four features a rematch between WBL Orange and Moorhead (it may look like Halloween in the rink tomorrow morning) and White Bear Black and Andover Black (you may need a flashlight for this one).

A Champions: Andover > Edina White (4-3)…Congrats to the Huskies! Edina beat WBL 3-2 in OT scoring with :20 to tie it. Andover edged MPLS 4-2 to advance.
