This Saturday January 12th will be the first annual GIRLS HOCKEY DAY WHITE BEAR LAKE. Vadnais Arena is scheduled to host a whopping 7 girls (including JV and Varsity) games all in succession, over one day.

The game schedule is as follows:

WB10B Black vs. Highland @ 10:45 – Bremer
WB10A vs. Forest Lake @ 12:00 – Bremer
WB 12B Orange vs. Stillwater Red @ 1:15 – Bremer
WB 12B Black vs. Highland @ 2:30 – Bremer
WB 12A vs. Forest Lake @3:45 – Bremer
WB High School Girls JV vs. Cretin Derham Hall @5:30 – Tousley
WB High School Girls Varsity vs. Cretin Derham Hall @ 7:30 – Tousley

So why is White Bear doing this? Girls Hockey Day White Bear Lake is an event a few years in the making. Girls Director Steve Snyder and Varsity Coach Jerry Kwapick see Girls Hockey Day as an opportunity to better connect the program at all levels. Events like this one are also key to reignite interest in girls hockey in White Bear and Statewide as girls participation numbers have been decreasing recently at both the U8 and U10 levels. So come out and make a day of it this Saturday. There will be a carnival atmosphere at Vadnais all day long. The White Bear Lake girls high school players will be actively participating throughout the day with the team attending youth games and even helping to coach from the bench. There will be a group of high school parents leading a puck crawl of sorts attempting to watch all seven of the girls games throughout the day.

This could be a great tradition in the making.
