Edina AA and Lakeville North AA faced off in their third Pool A game this Monday Morning at the Edina Invitational. The Hornets won 7-2

The last six games of pool play at the Edina Peewee AA Invitational tourney held at Braemar Arena were played Monday morning.  Edina AA beat Lakeville North AA 7-2 to end pool play with a 3-0 record and a perfect +15 in goal differential to take the #1 seed into semifinal play Tuesday Morning.

Edina will play Wayzata, the wild card seed.  The Trojans beat Eden Prairie 5-3 in their third pool game to take the wild card seed and eliminate the Eagles from the championship semifinals.

Lakeville South beat an improving Blaine team 5-1 to sweep three games in Pool B.  The Bengals played tough against the #2 ranked South team, trailing 1-0 halfway through the game.  Blaine’s goalie Bryce Crowley had a good tournament.  Lakeville South will play Centennial in the second Championship semifinal game Tuesday morning.

Centennial beat Stillwater 5-2 to win the Pool C championship and the #3 seed to the Championship semifinals.  The Cougars won all three games in pool play.

Edina and Wayzata have met twice before this season.  The Hornets won both games.  They beat the Trojans 5-1 in November and 9-0 in December.  Tomorrow is January and the Trojans have the talent to compete with Edina.

Lakeville South and Centennial have not played each other.  This will be their first meeting this season.  Both teams have been playing consistent and solid hockey in this tourney.  The game looks to be a “nail biter” for the coaches.

In other Monday morning games, STMA beat Elk River 4-2.  STMA gets the #5 seed in the tourney and plays #6 Chaska Tuesday morning.  Chaska beat Osseo/Maple Grove 4-3 Monday.  OMG ends up with the #8 seed and will play #7 seed Eden Prairie Tuesday.

Lakeville North gets the #9 seed and plays #10 Blaine Tuesday.  Elk River gets the #11 seed and plays #12 seeded Stillwater.
