Brock Faber with the winning goal for OMG vs EP.

Two great games this morning at ECC.  In the first game, EP came out flying and was taking the play to OMG.  After the first period, the Eagles clad in their tournament black uniforms led 1-0.  In the second period, OMG established the play and began winning battles. Eventually scoring a goal down low to tie it 1-1. Late in the second OMG’s Tyler Oakland stole the puck from an EP defender and found his linemate Brock Faber in front and Faber found a hole and scored. Final Score: OMG 2, EP 1.

In the second game, Andover got two early goals from number 9 Eric Cartier to establish a 2-0 lead, the second a top shelf shot on a breakaway.  The Huskies carried the play (their speed frustrated Rosemount into several penalties the whole game). To their credit, Rosemount found a way to kill off penalties and stay in the game. In the second half of the game, the Irish took over the play and began to force Andover into the box. With the score 2-1, Andover got a penalty. One of the Andover players did not like the call and expressed his displeasure..this got him a penalty, too. Skating 5 on 3, Mason Campbell fired a shot from the point that hit traffic and went in to tie it with nine minutes left. A minute later, Mason Wheeler scored the game winner for Rosemount on a pretty feed from the corner. Final Score, Rosemount 3, Andover 2.
