PeeWees:

Minnetonka > Elk River (8-1)…no one saw that coming. The Skippers look to be poised.

Edina > Prior Lake (6-2)…Edina marches on
OMG > Eden Prairie (5-3)…another

good tournament for OMG

Hermantown > Centennial (5-4, OT)…this is a surprise, Centennial has played very well of late. H’Town with a PW/Bantam sweep of Centennial at MARS this morning (rare finding in youth tournament sports).

Prior Lake v. Elk River (nod to PL)…Elk River 7-6, OT
OMG v. Hermantown (nod to OMG)…OMG 4-3
Edina v. Tonka (nod to Edina)…Edina 7-1

PM Commentary: Minnetonka and OMG big risers in the rankings after this weekend (probably 3 and 4 behind LVS). Who’s number 5 is the bigger question. Congratulations to Edina, OMG and Elk River on nice finishes. Safe travels home.

Bantams:

Edina > Burnsville (7-4)…Edina seems to be picking up some steam lately
Elk River > Stillwater (2-1)…slight surprise considering how well Stillwater has played the last 2 weeks

Hermantown > Centennial (4-2)…another team that has really stepped up their game lately – Hermantown

Duluth East > White Bear (5-3)….the Hounds will have their hands full with Hermantown for Consolation prize.

Afternoon Commentary: Burnsville v. Stillwater…this is why teams play in tournaments, two non-district opponents playing for hardware and playing for the first time all year. These two teams are similarly ranked, head to head matters here. (Nod to Burnsville)

Edina v. Elk River…don’t count out the Elks, they have had a good weekend…the right bounce or the right sequence of plays and this game could go the way of Elk River. (Nod to Edina)

Hermantown v. Duluth East…bragging rights for a day in D11 (Nod to Hermantown)

Edina > Elk River (5-3)
Stillwater > Burnsville (6-2)
Hermantown > Duluth East (2-0)

PM Commentary: The Hornets making a strong case for number two in state after a nice weekend sweep. Hermantown, Stillwater, and Elk River are rising fast.

Congratulations to Edina on a nice tourney win. Thank you to the Duluth Amateur Hockey Association for making our job easy on following this tournament.

Safe travels home.
