A brief snapshot of the goings on in Duluth yesterday and what’s to come today.

PeeWees:

Minnetonka > Duluth East (8-4),
Hermantown > Wayzata (4-2),
OMG > WBL (5-1)
Prior Lake > Forest Lake (10-2)

Edina > Clo

quet (15-2)
Centennial > Thunder Bay (6-2)
Eden Prairie > Duluth Denfeld (9-2)
Elk River > Superior (3-0),

Commentary: No surprises from D6 powers Prior Lake, Edina, Minnetonka or Eden Prairie – Duluth East seems to be giving up a lot of goals despite having some great talent. Hermantown with the wow game of the day over Wayzata. OMG continues to play well when it counts. Centennial is the hottest team in the state right now – Edina will likely cool them off at 11:00. The Elks beat a very solid Superior team. Freddie thinks they are bound for the finals.

Bantams:

Duluth East > Blaine (7-2)
Minnetonka > Stillwater (3-2)
Burnsville > St. Cloud (6-2)
Hermantown > Woodbury (5-2)
Burnsville > Hermantown (2-1)
Woodbury > St. Cloud (5-0)
Stillwater > Blaine (7-1)
Duluth East > Minnetonka (3-1)
White Bear Lake > Cloquet (3-2)
Elk River > Farmington (2-1)
Centennial > Sartell (7-1)
Edina > Madison (8-3).

Commentary: Minnetonka with a nice win over Stillwater…Burnsville and Duluth East with two wins. No major wows on Friday. The Edina v. Centennial and the Duluth East v. Stillwater games should be action packed and have Championship bracket implications. YHH likes Edina and Stillwater to advance with Burnsville and Elk River. Which lines up Elk River and Stillwater and Burnsville and Edina in the Semis.

Stay tuned for more updates at the tournament progresses.
