Huskies take down Eagles 4-2
Charlie Schoen was as good as advertised Thursday for Andover. The second year skater showed great skill with or without the puck. The Huskies first goal was credited to Luke Kron, but Schoen is the player who created the play skating hard down the left wing firing a low hard shot on goal which forced a juicy rebound for Kron to bury. Later up 2-0, Schoen did it again, he beat his man got into space and created a nice goal for line mate Michael Clough to finish off to give Andover a comfortable 3-0 lead. Eden Prairie was not very effective in setting any kind of tone. Even after a pretty goal by EP’s Spencer Rudrud to make it 3-1, the Eagles just weren’t clicking. The Andover speed was giving the Eagles trouble. Speaking of trouble, Andover got into a lot of trouble down the stretch with the referees. A late tripping call, gave the Eagles a power play and they capitalized with a goal by Jacob Lillejord to make it 3-2. From this point of the game on, the Eagles were finally clicking. A full on attack caused another penalty by Andover with 1:40 left. The Eagles gained control of the zone and pulled their goalie for a 6 on 4 run to tie it late. Enter Charlie Schoen. Schoen caught an EP defender with the puck on the blue line and he picked his pocket, skated the length of the ice and finished off the Eagles for the W.
