Can Anyone Put a Stain on Wayzata Navy's Great Record?

YHH says Sibley should be headed to the State Championship Game on Sunday vs. Wayzata Navy

Wayzata Navy comes into the State Tournament in Silver Bay on a 19 game unbeaten streak. The Trojans won the District 3 tournament and the South Regional in Brooklyn Park. They are the team to beat at Rukavina Arena this weekend. Other teams of note are North St. Paul winners of the North Regional and Johnson Como winners of the East Regional. The Polars and the Devils are two of the hottest teams in Minnesota right now.  A team that won't surprise YHH as a contender are the Sibley Warriors. They beat top ten juggernauts Edina and Minnetonka to punch their ticket up north.

First Round Games

Game 1: Blaine vs. Wayzata Blue. Blaine won the West Regional in Morris over some stiff Western Minnesota teams like Lake of the Woods and Wadena. Wayzata Blue comes into the Tournament labeled "the other Wayzata team". Don't overlook this team at all, they knocked off STMA, St. Cloud and Minneapolis Orange to get to Silver Bay.

The Call: Wayzata over Blaine

Game 2: North St. Paul vs. Sibley. A classic east side battle between two teams that have a legit shot at the state title game. This will be the best game of the afternoon with either team having a shot.

The Call: Sibley over North St. Paul

Game 3: Wayzata Navy vs. Lake of the Woods. This tournament is Navy's to lose. Lake of the Woods could surprise the Trojans if they aren't careful.

The Call: Wayzata over LOW

Game 4: White Bear Lake vs. Johnson Como. Johnson Como is the second best team in this tournament behind Navy, they will knock off the late charging Bears on Friday night.

Semifinals

Game 1: Sibley vs. Wayzata Blue. Sibley will be too much for Wayzata. Defenseman Tommy Winges and Forward Sam Ohmes will steal the show and the Warriors will punch their ticket to the State Championship.

The Call: Sibley over Wayzata Blue

Game 2: Wayzata Navy vs. Johnson Como. This game will be an epic battle of East vs. West metro. Both teams have impressive records facing impressive competition. Johnson won the toughest league in Minnesota (District 8) and Wayzata has beaten everyone this calendar year. Watch out for Nick Kerbeshian and Andrew Urban for the Trojans, they are difference makers.

The Call: Wayzata over Johnson Como

Championship

Wayzata Navy v. Sibley

Wayzata has won four tournaments so far this year. The Mounds View Tournament, Fargo, District 3 and the South Regional. They have more hardware than Hardware Hank. This team has proven time and again to be winners. Sibley has an impressive resume, but has not won in the same fashion as Navy.

The Call: Wayzata Navy...State Champs
