Dates For 2015 CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs Announced

Minnesota Hockey, in conjunction with Reebok-CCM, will conclude the Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance season this weekend with the Boys’ and Girls’ 14/15 Festivals. The inaugural Girls’ 14/15 Festival will take place at the Anoka Ice Arena. The Boys’ Festival will be held at Edina’s Braemar Arena. The Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance 14/15 Program provides players born in 2000-2001 the opportunity to train and compete against players from across the state of similar age and ability.

Games will begin on Friday evening, September 26 and will conclude on Sunday, September 29. The Boys’ Festival will feature 16 teams with all of Minnesota Hockey’s Districts being represented by at least one team. The Girls’ Festival will be made up of 11 teams. The full weekend’s schedule and team rosters for the Girls’ Festival can be found here, and the Boys’ can be found here.

“The High Performance programs continue to grow and we’re thrilled to add the 14/15 Girls’ Festival this year” said Mike MacMillan, Director of the Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs. “The 14/15 Festivals will be great for the all of our participants as they gear up for another highly competitive season in Minnesota. The kids at this weekend’s festivals will have the chance to showcase their skills in a game environment after a month of dryland training and on-ice practice sessions.”

The participants in this weekend’s festival began the process with tryouts in their respective Districts this spring. Beginning in early September, those players took part in training sessions to continue to learn and develop hockey skills. The program is one component of a series of programs that constitute the Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey Development Process. It is staffed by the top youth, high school, college and USA Hockey coaches.

Following the conclusion of the 2014 Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance season this weekend, the programs will be re-named the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs.
