16 Teams From Around Minnesota Break the Ice at Braemar

Prior Lake's Owen Neuharth attacks the net for District 6 Friday

Some of the State's Best '00 and '01 Players Clash

Over 240 players from all 12 Minnesota Hockey districts take the ice this weekend at Braemar Ice Arena. Each team will play three games against other District teams over the weekend. Games are split into two 25 minute halves. Some districts chose to field two teams (2, 6, 8, and 10).

While taking in a few games Friday, YHH saw some impressive skaters, some fierce physical contact and some great goaltending.

5 Players to Watch

1. Jaxon Nelson, Luverne - the state's best 2000 birth year will take his talents to Edina this weekend.

2. Peter Harrington, Irondale - strong defenseman with all the tools for the next level. Nephew of '80 Olympian John Harrington.

3. Luke Loheit, Minnetonka - grandson of former North Star Bill Goldsworthy, physical player who holds down the blue line well and can rush the puck.

4. Jack Perbix, Elk River - great hands, elusive player who is dangerous with the puck.

5. Tyler Borsch, Maple Grove - great two way player, strong with the puck...deceiving speed for a Defenseman.

New Faces in the Crowd

Robert Christy, Highland - great command of the game...bigger version of his older brother Ray who starred in the Bantam Elite League this Summer.

Joe Raleigh, Stillwater - athletic defenseman who showed ability to rush the puck and carry the play.

Mick Rynerson, Blaine - quick feet, not afraid to mix it up on every shift for D10.
