Minnetonka's Teddy Lagerbeck will make an impact at PWAA this year

Each year, new players surface all over Minnesota and take over a specific level of hockey. Last year at this time, Grant Doctor was a nice defenseman who would bolster Minnetonka's blue line at the PeeWee AA level. Four months later, he was a household name scoring signature goals and helping lead the Skippers to the state tournament in Thief River Falls.

This year there will be several more players like Doctor who will likely break onto the scene in Minnesota. YHH has seen a lot of great hockey this off season and is going to take a shot at naming a kid or two who may jump onto the scene this season.

Lewis Crosby, Edina (Bantams)

Not exactly a new name on the scene for YHH. Crosby was valuable and versatile player for the Edina Bantam AA team that took third in the state last year. With many defections to other teams, levels, and states, the Hornet Bantam AA team will likely lean on Crosby for his scoring touch. Crosby, coming off a great Bantam Elite season, netted 18 points (10G/8A) which was fifth in the league in scoring on a last place team. When the Hornets have success this season, Crosby will likely be right in the middle of it. Actually, when they don't have success...Crosby will be in the middle of it, too.

Josh Giuliani, Osseo Maple Grove (Squirts)

Osseo Maple Grove ran the table last season at Squirt A going undefeated. Their 3 B teams were also loaded with top players. Josh Giuliani will be a great player this year for OMG as they look to defend the Fargo, Moose Goheen, and Squirtacular titles. Giuliani has a nose for the net and will likely be a top scorer for the Crimson Orioles.

Hunter Jacobs, Bloomington Jefferson (Bantams)

Hunter Jacobs is a player who moved into the Jefferson program after playing in Shakopee for most of his youth career. Jacobs has all of the tools to be a 50 goal scorer this season for the Jags. He was the fourth leading scorer in the Velocity 3v3 tournament in September where he showed a propensity to handle and shoot the puck. With the addition of Jacobs scoring touch, the Jags could have a strong team this season with returners Alex Miller, Tristan Larson and Nathan Johannes.

Teddy Lagerbeck, Minnetonka (PeeWees)

Teddy Lagerbeck is a player YHH has seen dating back to his days of Mite and Squirt hockey. He's always had a great hockey IQ and some nice skill, but over the last 18 months, Lagerbeck has grown into a complete hockey player skill-wise and has physically grown to make him a potentially dominant force this year at the PeeWee AA level in District 6.

Gavin Lindberg, Moorhead (Squirts)

One of the leading scorers in the Fargo International Squirt Tournament as a first year, Gavin Lindberg. Lindberg is a strong kid who has great skill and a high hockey IQ. Gavin was a menace to other teams last Summer in the Brick Invitational scoring 2 Goals and 2 Assists in six games. Lindberg will be suited up as a Moorhead Spud this year and not an Otter (insert mascot joke here).  Which will suit the Spud fans just fine as they likely will be a top Squirt A team in Minnesota.

Charlie Strobel, Stillwater (PeeWees)

The son of former Hill Murray and Wisconsin Badger Mike Strobel, Charlie Strobel attacks the game like a dog on a bone. Highly skilled, the younger Strobel plays with an edge to him that will likely make him tough to stop in District 2 PeeWees. Paired with White Bear's Billy Rose at the PeeWee Challenge, Strobel flourished scoring three goals helping his team, the Huskies, to the PWC title. Like the PWC, look for Strobel and his Stillwater team to challenge the top tier PeeWee teams all year.
