1. Osseo Maple Grove

Why: a deep group of skaters, the type of team that will wear down opponents with it's smarts, skill and depth. 

Why Not: lack a top-end scorer who can take over a game and size to be a dominant team all year.

2. Rosemount

Why: big physical team with a core of kids that have won a lot of games in their young careers...have scorers on all three lines and from the blue line.

Why Not: best players may lack physical play needed even at the non-checking PeeWee level.

3. Andover

Why: a team with great speed and skill like the Huskies will win a lot and rarely be out hustled or over matched.

Why Not: best players are '02 birth years, could be an issue with physical maturity down the stretch.

4. Minneapolis

Why: great group of players, a lot of skill up front and size and talent on the blue line. A team that peaked as Squirts two years ago, could be very good team this year.

Why Not: have not proven to be consistent winner at the highest level of MN Hockey.

5. ChaskaChan

Why: won District 6 as Squirts two years ago, have a great blue line and some returning scoring punch from a year ago.

Why Not: last year's team started strong and did not make it to state...can this year's edition reverse that?

6. Edina

Why: talented group of forwards, very solid defensive corps and goaltending, the Hornets will be a sure fire contender at the end of the season.

Why Not: this is a brand new team, talent is the only known commodity...gelling as a team is a big question mark.

7. Minnetonka

Why: did well in the Velocity 3v3 to grab the attention of YHH. Have some size and a few players that can win games by themselves.

Why Not: will they have the depth to skate with the others in their league...can their secondary scorers step up in crunch time?

8. Moorhead

Why: a complete team with the intangibles to make a run into the State Tournament this year. Top notch goaltending, strong defensive corps and a handful of kids that put the puck in the net.

Why Not: will not face high end speed and talent all season, could catch up to them late in the year.

9. Prior Lake

Why: hard working group of skaters that will be very similar to their team in '13-'14. Relentless play of three lines and good goaltending.

Weakness: size and PeeWee AA experience is the X factor for the Lakers...

10. White Bear Lake

Why: very experienced set of returners, deep pool of defensemen, and strong goaltending will have the Bears in every game this year.

Why Not: good team as Squirts two years ago, not great....talent not in question, good teamwork and chemistry could make this team great.
