Pens celebrate win Friday over Devils
The Penguins beat the regular season champion Devils 3-2 Friday in the Bantam Elite League playoffs at Bloomington Ice Garden. After taking a 2-1 lead after the first half, the last placed Pens scored on a 3 on 0 break to jump to a 3-1 lead halfway through the second half.
Champlin Park Goalie Brennan Boynton saved his best game of the BEL season for Friday. He stopped 32 of 34 shots including a miraculous point blank save with 23 seconds left in the game.
The Pens got goals from Nick Hauck and Bryce Brodzinski and advance to the semifinals Saturday night against the Flyers. The Devils will finish out the season on Saturday against northern rival Stars on Saturday morning.
The second place Lightning beat the Kings 6-2 on Friday to advance to the BEL semifinals on Saturday. Blaine Warnert had 2 goals and an assist to lead the Bolts onto the next round.
Both teams had short benches due to an early start time - but each battle to the end in a game that was closer than the final score. Lucas Wahlin (Woodbury) and Jared Anderson (Rochester) each had goals for the Kings. The Kings will wrap up their season Saturday with a game against the Wild, while the Bolts will take on the Bruins for a shot at the BEL title game on Sunday at BIG.

The Flyers beat the Stars 4-2 Friday in the Bantam Elite Quarterfinals. The Flyers were lead by three players that had a goal and an assist...St. Cloud's Nate Warner, Killian Kiecker-Olson and Grant Docter.
After losing to the Stars in Moorhead on a late goal, the Flyers beat the Stars two in a row, both times in Bloomington. Winning three of their last four games, the Flyers are getting hot at the right time of year heading into the semifinals Saturday against the Penguins.
The Stars are 8-7 heading into their final game Saturday against the Devils. Roseau's Ben Helgeson is tied for the lead in the league scoring. He added two more goals Friday for the Stars.
Flyers Score Friday in their 4-2 win over the Stars
The Bruins beat the Wild Friday 5-2 in the Bantam Elite playoffs at Bloomington Ice Garden. Will Hillman had two goals and league leading scorer Jack Jensen added a goal and an assist to help the Bruins advance to Saturday's semifinals against the Lightning.
The shorthanded Wild surprised most by taking a 2-1 lead at the half with inspired play by goalie Evan Foss and goals by Spencer Schneider and Carver Martin. The Bruins were too much for the Wild in the second half. They scored four unanswered goals holding off the Wild to win.
The Wild will finish off their season with a game against the Kings on Saturday. While the Bruins will look to win the season rubber match with Bolts for a berth in the BEL Championship Sunday at BIG.
