The '07 Phoenix Jr. Coyotes knocked off Chaska/Chanhassen Purple 3-1 to move on to Sunday's semifinals, making the trip from the Grand Canyon state a worthwhile endeavor. The Jr. Coyotes scored three unanswered goals to erase a 1-0 deficit after the first period to earn the win.
The Jr. Coyotes will face Mahtomedi Gold, which snuck past Edina Green 5-4, ending the run of the division's leading scorer Taylor Salmon. Salmon currently paces the SQB's with 12 goals and 16 points. The Zephyrs' semifinal win was its closest of the tournament, winning its first two contests 17-6.
Chaska/Chan Black edged Mahtomedi Blue 4-3 in yet another close game behind a Hatty by Chase Borene, the second-leading scorer in the SQB division with eight goals and 11 points. Stillwater awaits Chaska/Chan Black after continuing its run of dominance with a 5-1 win over Edina Gold. The Ponies showed off their balance by having five players notch goals.
