When you say the word Plante and Hermantown...winner is synonymous. Bruce Plante won hundreds of games and helped build a winning hockey tradition coaching hockey in the town just west of Duluth. His legendary hockey playing/coaching son Derek moved his family there and two of his sons Zam and Max are carrying on the name and the tradition with flying colors.
On Saturday, each played a big part in the PeeWee AA Hawks' route to the Big Pumpkin championship game. In the afternoon Max had three goals and in the evening his older brother Zam had a pair of pretty goals.
The Hawks will face Woodbury in what will be a great title game Sunday afternoon.

The Woodbury Predators are making a name for themselves early in the season by beating everyone in their path. Up front, they have a couple lines that can get it done. But the real work for the Predators comes from their blue line and two unheralded goalies that were lights out on Saturday.
The Preds blue line built with Will Skahan (big, aggressive), Trey Gnetz (quick, shifty), Tanner Henricks (smooth, calm) and Simon Hogue (smart, dangerous) is a coaches dream. Kamdon Carlson followed up a great performance by his battery mate Jack Hodgins with one goal big-save game Saturday night.
Allowing only only two goals in three games, can they Preds keep up this pace against Hermantown Sunday? Tune into YHH Sunday at 2:30 pm.
