Offense Reigns Supreme In Lumberjack Cup

With all of Friday's games reaching a goal-differential threshold of four, it's safe to say that Friday's docket of Lumberjack Cup battles took on an offensive tone.

In the PWAA division, Osseo-Maple Grove kicked off the day with a resounding 7-1 win over Champlin Park, sparked by a four-goal first period. Both Wyatt Olson and Jayden Grant scored two goals in the win of the Leafbirds to lead the team to victory.

Stillwater downed Chaska/Chanhassen in the second PWAA battle of the day by a score of 7-3. Leading the way in that win was Ty Tuccitto, the towering forward who turned in a state line of two goals and six points for the Ponies.

Rosemount downed the New Jersey Titans 14-0 in the PWAA nightcap, led by Charlie Stramel's five goals. Isaiah Winge racked up a Texas Hatty for the Irish, and William Whitelaw added a Hatty of his own in the win.

Ethan Topp and Jack Tauscher led Woodbury PWA to a 6-0 win over Little Falls to start the PWA side of the tournament. Drew Lane earned the clean sheet between the pipes for the Predators.

Stillwater skated to a 9-2 win over Luverne in the second PWA matchup, scoring six times in the first period and snuffing out a mild Cardinal comeback attempt in the second. Both Riley Skuza and Kyle Einan recorded Hatty's for the Ponies in the win, and each finished with four total points.

Rosemount PWA concluded the day with a 10-1 win over New Mexico, powered primarily by a three-goal, five-point night from Luca Salak.
