Stillwater Slams Door On Osseo-Maple Grove

If this game was to be described as a seesaw battle, it would be safe to say that Stillwater is still sitting.

The Ponies started the game with two goals in the first period, with both scores credited to Matthew Volkman who also added an assist in the game. Osseo-Maple Grove's Wyatt Olson pared the Stillwater lead to 2-1 with a goal late in the first frame.

Both teams notched a pair of goals in the second stanza, with the brothers Simon and Sawyer Seidl tallying scores for the Ponies and Danny Nelson and Landon Gunderson answering for the Leafbirds. With the 4-3 in favor of the Ponies, the teams entered the third period primed for a dramatic finish in the PWAA final.

After Jack Kernan tied the game at 4-4 for the Leafbirds, the Ponies clipped Osseo-Maple Grove's wings, with Ty Tuccitto scoring the game-winner and Daniel Roeske icing the game with an empty-net goal.

For his seven-goal, 19-point performance, Tuccitto claimed Most Valuable Player honors for the Ponies.
