First day of competition sets the stage for rest of the weekend ahead.

Cayden Alphin scores one of his two goals as '06 Miracle Gold and Acceleration NW tie 3-3 on Thursday.

Boys Invite (2004-2005)

2004 Invite

Velocity Black and Blue Army kicked off the 2004 Invite Division with a 4-4 tie, with New Generation following that draw with a 4-1 win over Mustangs Green. Since there are only four teams in the ’04 Invite Division, each team will play the other three once, with all four teams playing twice on Saturday. Those games will take place at the St. Louis Park Rec Center and Braemar Ice Arena.

2005 Invite

Pool A of the 2005 Invite Division has Blue Army on top after the first day of competition after scoring a 5-1 win over Magicians AAA. The ’06 Minnesota Blades tied the Alaska ’05’s 6-6 in a roller-coaster of a game in St. Louis Park. Pool B featured two ties on Friday, so Saturday will begin with everyone tied for first, just like Friday did. Red Army and Euro American Red drew 4-4, while the Midwest Devils and Breakaway Red ended their game knotted at 3-3.

2006 Invite

In keeping with Friday’s theme of ties, Miracle Gold and Acceleration NW skated to a 3-3 draw in Maple Grove to start the 2006 Invite Division, with the ’06 Minnesota Blades downing the Colorado Kodiaks 5-2 in the other Pool A battle. Blue Army thumped Breakaway Red 7-1 and Velocity Black shut out the Green Bay (WI) Hornets 6-0 to complete Pool B’s slate for the day.

2007 Invite

Friday yielded two losses for Breakaway Red in the 2007 Invite Division, as the team was the only group to play twice. Blue Army also ended Friday without a mark in the win column, as they fell to Minnesota Mosquitos Black 6-3. The Lake Superior Stars, Euro American Red, and the Mosquitos will all enter Saturday with 1-0 records.

Beau Blashack nets a goal for 2005 Euro American Red.
