BOYS INVITE (2004-2005)


Simon Seidl recorded a hat-trick for the 2006 Minnesota Blades on Saturday.

2004 Invite

In the smallest field, Mustangs Green takes on Blue Army in one semifinal, while Velocity Black takes on New Generation in the other. Mustangs Green went 0-2 on Saturday, losing to Blue Army 5-2 and Velocity Black 3-2. Blue Army defeated New Generation 4-2 and emerged victorious in the aforementioned game against Mustangs Green. Velocity Black also went 0-2 on the day while New Generation went 1-1. 

Predicted Champion: Blue Army 

2005 Invite 

Record-wise, nothing separates the top four teams in the 2005 Invite Division, and those four groups will get a chance to separate on Sunday morning. 

The Minnesota Blades '06 will get a crack at Euro American Red after a 7-1 win over Magicians AAA and a 7-2 win over Blue Army, while EAR scored wins over Breakaway Red 5-1 and the Midwest Devils 6-3. Red Army squares off with the Alaska ’05’s in the other semifinal. Red Army shutout Breakaway Red 5-0 before edging the Midwest Devils 5-3. Alaska slipped past Blue Army 4-3 and trounced Magicians AAA 5-1 on Saturday.

Predicted Champion: Alaska '05's

Boys Invite (2006-2007)

2006 Invite

The ’06 Minnesota Blades took first place in Pool A with a record of 2-1, defeating Acceleration NW 4-1 before falling to Miracle Gold 4-0 in the afternoon. The Blades will take on Velocity Black in the playoffs on Sunday. Velocity Black lost to Blue Army 3-0 and beat Breakaway Red 4-0 on Saturday. In the second semifinal, undefeated Blue Army will face Miracle Gold after shutting out Velocity Black 3-0 and grinding past the Green Bay (WI) Hornets 6-3. Miracle Gold scored a 4-0 win over the ’06 Blades after losing to the Colorado Kodiaks 3-2 earlier in the day.

Predicted Champion: MN Blades  

2007 Invite

Minnesota Mosquitos Black will take on Euro American Red in the first Sunday game in the 2007 Invite Division, with the Mosquitos losing twice on Saturday to Breakaway Red 5-3 and the Lake Superior Stars 5-4. EAR picked up two wins over Lake Superior (3-0) and Blue Army (8-1) on Saturday. The Lake Superior Stars will battle Blue Army in the other Sunday morning game. The top two teams in the single pool will meet for the championship game at 4:15 at the Super Rink.

Girls (10U/12U)

10U

Team Minnesota Development faces Girls of the North in the 10U semifinals on Sunday after a 7-0 win over the Top Dog Bulldogs and a 3-3 tie with the Red River Flames. Girls of the North won Pool B after beating the Jr. Moose 7-0 and the Ice Cougars 8-1. In the second semifinal, the Red River Flames will take on DHI West Coast. The Flames skated to the aforementioned tie with Team MN Development and a 6-0 win over the Mustangs. DHI West Coast cruised past Easton Synergy 8-1 and thumped the MN Nordiques 7-0 on Saturday.

Predicted Champion: DHI West Coast   

12U Campbell

The Terrebonne Terrors earned first place in Pool A with a record of 3-0 and draw Team Minnesota Development in the semifinals. The Terrors edged the FT Stars 5-4 and shut out the Magicians 6-0 on Saturday while Team MN Development blanked Ice Cougars Purple and downed Midwest Selects 8-1. The second semifinal will feature the FT Stars and the OS Aces. The Stars lost a heartbreaker to Terrebonne 5-4 and fell to Northern Edge Elite Orange 4-2. OS breezed to wins over Midwest Selects and Ice Cougars Purple by scores of 9-2 and 7-2 respectively.

Predicted Champion: OS Aces 

12U Wales

Easton Synergy, River City Selects, Crown Hockey and FHC Thunder Bay have all advanced to the semifinal round, with Easton Synergy taking on the Selects after a 3-1 win over the Glenview Stars and a 7-2 win over the OS Stars. River City thumped the New York EJ All-Stars 8-1 and shut out Skate to Excellence 7-0 on Saturday. Crown Hockey advances after an 8-1 win over Blue Army and a 6-1 win over the Sassy Sharpshooters, while FHC Thunder Bay downed Team MN 12U 7-0 and the Red River Flames 4-0.

Predicted Champion: River City Selects
