Tournament's packed schedule sets the stage for riveting Sunday slate.

2003 Invite Division

Gentry continues to steamroll with a resounding 11-3 win over Miracle Gold on Saturday night, giving Gentry three wins in which they put the opponent into running time.

The Lake Superior Stars will meet Gentry in the finals after taking a pair of games on Saturday, downing Miracle Gold 6-3 and cruising past Centennial 7-1. Gentry defeated Lake Superior 9-3 in the opening round of the tournament.

Centennial and Gentry will meet in one semifinal, while Miracle Gold and Lake Superior will meet in the other. If previous games are any indication, it's likely that Gentry and Lake Superior will meet in the finals, having already defeated their respective semifinal opponents.

2004 Invite Division

Top-seeded Miracle Gold cemented its undefeated status with a 6-0 win over Blue Army and a 7-2 win over the ’05 Minnesota Blades on Saturday and draws fourth-seeded Mustangs Green on Sunday morning. Mustangs Green lost to the Blades (8-3) and Blue Army 5-2 to close out Saturday’s slate.

Blue Army and the Blades will duel in the other semifinal, with Blue Army carrying a record of 2-1 and the Blades finishing pool play at 1-2. In their first meeting during pool play, Blue Army trounced the Blades 6-2 after the Blades took a 2-0 lead.

2005 Invite Division

With only four teams in the 2005 Invite Division, all four squads will get a crack in the semifinals, with the No. 1 seed Blue Army facing fourth-seeded Midwest Devils, and No. 2 seed Velocity Black playing No. 3 seed Team Attack. 

Blue Army has swept through all three other teams thus far, earning victories over Velocity Black and the Midwest Devils on Saturday by scores of 5-2 and 6-2 respectively. Velocity Black (1-1-1) rebounded from the loss to Blue Army with a 4-1 win over Team Attack, which finished pool play with a record of 1-2. The Midwest Devils have gone winless thus far and fell to Blue Army and Team Attack on Saturday.

2006 Invite Division

The with teams that began the Independent Classic’s 2006 Invite Division have been whittled down to a final four, as Saturday spit out the semifinalists that will square off on Sunday morning to see who takes its place in the title game in the afternoon. 

The Lake Superior Stars took the top spot in Pool A via tiebreaker, sharing the same 2-1-0 record as the TC Red Knight Selects and Viverant but boast a goal-differential of 10. The Red Knight Selects take Pool A’s second slot, edging out Viverant due to a goal-differential of five. Lake Superior defeated the Red Knight selects 6-2 and Hometown Hockey 8-1 on Saturday, while Red Knight Selects bounced back from the loss to the Stars with a win over Viverant by a score of 8-4.  

Representing Pool B’s top seed will be the Fox School of Hockey, again with the tiebreaker making the decision. The Fox School went 2-0-1 through Saturday, scoring wins over Velocity Black 7-0 and Blue Army 3-1 on the second day of competition. The Minnesota Blades also advance to the semifinals with a 2-0-1 record and will face Lake Superior. The Blades shutout Blue Army 4-0 and downed Velocity Black 3-1 in the day’s ’06 finale.

Semifinal 2: Twin City Red Knight Selects vs. Fox School of Hockey, 8:30 a.m. (Super Rink)
