The combine shifts to the LumberYard in Stillwater for the three-on-three portion.

Grey Earns Ridder Title, Gold Gets First Win

Grey managed to hold off a late charge by an inspired Maroon squad to escape with a 4-2 win on Friday, giving Great a perfect 3-0 record at Ridder Arena.

Both Brody Dustin and Danny Nelson recorded two points in the win, with each player totaling a goal and an assist. Dustin and Nelson's goals came one right after the other, stretching the Grey lead to 3-1 before Maroon's Luke Giuliani pulled his team within one at 3-2. Ben Tauscher scored the insurance goal to ice the win for Grey. Hagen Burrows scored the first goal of the game for Grey, while Maroon got its first goal from Eddie Revenig.

In the second game of the day, Gold took on White, with Gold in search of its first victory in three days. After being dispatched in tough losses in the days before, today would be Gold's day, as it squeaked past White 4-3.

Rayne Walsh and Preston Holmes helped Gold to a 2-0 lead early, but saw that advantage quickly evaporate as Jimmy Zavoral and Eli Boden knotted the game with one goal each for White. Gold would again score in a pair, with Andrew Earl and Brittan Alstead netting  goals to make the score 4-2 Gold. Will Zellers scored late to pull White within one, but the Gold defense and goaltending tightened in crunch time to  cement the victory.

Danny Nelson recorded a goal and an assist on Friday afternoon for Grey.

Three-on-Three Play Kicks Off

Prior to the games, players and parents engaged in a Q&A session with NHLer Thomas Vanek, who spoke about what it takes to break into, and stay, in the professional ranks.
