Saturday's semifinal matchups are set as round-robin concludes.

Cale Malhotra nets a backhand goal for the BC Jr. Canucks on Friday.

Did Someone Say Playoffs?

We are 42 games into the 29th annual Brick Invitational and only a few things are certain. Toronto has a lot of talented players...the two teams from the Six have each gone 6-0-0 in pool play collectively outscoring the competition 58-15. The two teams seem to be on a collision course for the finals.

The bottom four teams in the playoffs all have had stretches of brilliance in the 2018 edition of The Brick. Connecticut is the only remaining team with USA ties - the Junior Rangers will face hometown favorite Team Brick Alberta Saturday. Meanwhile, Manitoba ended their Brick playoff drought and will face red-hot BC Saturday.  The two teams faced off in Winnipeg three weeks ago and skated to a 3-3 tie.

The Jets are ready to go...

Predictions

Game 1 - BC Junior Canucks vs. Manitoba Junior Jets

Slight edge in ability to BC, grit and compete level advantage goes to the Jets.

Tony Says - Manitoba

Game 2 - Connecticut Junior Rangers vs. Team Brick Alberta

Alberta is peaking at the right time, the Rangers have lost two in a row. Home crowd for Team Brick will be a factor.

The Alberta boys look to give their fans a lot to celebrate Saturday

Tony's Top 3

1. Jet Kjawah, Toronto Bulldogs - the blue-line for the Dawgs is impressive to say the least. Kjawah has size, speed and bunch of confidence with the puck. Has registered a point-per-game for Toronto heading into the playoffs.

2. Colin Fitzgerald, Toronto Pro Hockey - is a co-leader in Brick points with 10...great hands a big shot. Could be player with the ability to take over a game during the next two days.

3. Gavin Clark, Western Selects - hard working winger who took a skate to the leg and gave the whole mall a scare. He sucked it up, got some stitches and will hopefully enjoy the rest of the week with his team.

We hope to see Gavin Clark back on the ice soon...
