Stage is Set For Semifinal Saturday

As the third day of Leprechaun Days concluded, the clouds of an incoming storm hovered over The Pond in Rosemount. These clouds were both physical and metaphorical, with the former representing a series of scattered showers and the latter collecting in the form of the impending slate of semifinals to be played over the weekend.

The 12U Division semifinals are set, as Crown Hockey cruised to a 20-1 win over the Ice Breakers to clinch first place among the four teams. Katie Urick paced Crown with five goals, with Vivian Ferrell adding four scores in the win.

The Spartacats evened their record at 1-1 with a 16-2 win over the Ice Hawks, powered by a four-goal performance form Norah Drugge. Macie Wedum added three goals for the Spartacats, as four other players registered two tallies each.

Crown polished off its day with a 23-2 win over the Ice Hawks, with Ava Krikorian leading the way with seven goals. Lily Fetch added six goals in the win for Crown, which enters Saturday with a record of 3-0.

A balanced attack brought the Spartacats a 16-4 win in the nightcap over the Ice Breakers, as three players tallied three goals each. Norah Drugge, Grace Forester, and Cailynne Thomas were the scoring trio for the Spartacats, while Zoey Juncker also notched three goals for the Ice Breakers.

In the Squirt B/Squirt C Division the Jr. Eagles reign supreme, extending their record to a spotless 3-0 with a 17-4 victory over Green Dash, with Jackson Meier recording five goals and Reed Smith adding four of his own. After Friday, Meier has totaled 16 goals in three games for the Jr. Eagles. Ben Williams led Green Dash with two goals on Friday.
