Game One: Moorhead 3, Stillwater 2

Nolan Westra scored with 5:08 left in the third period to lift Moorhead to a 3-2 win over Stillwater in the final game of the Hockey For Life Classic for both teams.

Stillwater’s Ethan Darby put the Ponies up 1-0 with a shorthanded goal late in the first period, taking advantage of a Moorhead powerplay miscue and slammed home a second-chance shot past Spud goaltender Hudson Hodges.

Kyler Kleven tied the game for Moorhead (7-5) midway through the second period, a tie broken less than three minutes later by Stillwater’s Joe Stengl. The Spuds tied the game for the second time on a power play goal by Thomas Horan, with Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe picking up his second assist of the day.

Hodges concluded the game with 26 saves for the Spuds, while Jesse Brown stopped 26 of 29 shots for the Ponies (7-2).

Game Three: Eden Prairie 3, Lakeville North 1

Jack Engelbrekt played in just his second varsity game of the season on Saturday night, and as he did on Friday, the junior goaltender led his Eden Prairie Eagles to victory.

Engelbrekt made 29 saves as the Eagles edged Lakeville North 3-1 to cap their time in Prior Lake with a record of 2-1. John Mittelstadt scored the first goal of the game within the first four minutes of the game, picking up assists from Luke Mittelstadt and Jack Jensen.

A scoreless second period saw both Eden Prairie’s Engelbrekt and Lakeville North’s Will Johnson stop double-digit shots, as the teams battled for an offensive advantage while showing signs of fatigues while playing their third game in as many days.

Cole Pearson tied the game at 1-1 early in the third on a power play goal for Lakeville North (6-5), sending the game into a seesaw battle for the next four-and-a-half minutes. Luke Mittelstadt scored the eventual game-winner off a fortunate deflection off a Lakeville North defender’s skate while starter Will Johnson took less than a minute in the bench after an apparent injury, giving the Eagles (8-3-1) a 2-1 lead midway through the third period.  Jack Jensen sealed the win with an empty-net goal for the Eagles.

Jack Engelbrekt earned his second varsity win in his second varsity game on Saturday night.

Ben Konik of Lakeville North assisted on the Panthers' lone goal of Saturday's loss to Eden Prairie.

Game Four: St. Thomas Academy 2, Prior Lake 1

Prior Lake got on the board for the first time in nearly six periods, but St. Thomas Academy held off the Lakers to earn the 2-1 win in the final game of the Hockey For Life Classic.

Riley O'Brien and Brendan McFadden scored in the final 6:11 of the first period to give the Cadets (7-3-1) a 2-0 lead, with both goals coming on the power play. Nico Vega, Thomas Winges, Ryan O'Neill, and Rob Christy earned the assorted assists on the Cadet goals.

Nick Speltz pulled Prior Lake (5-6) within one goal at 2-1 by banging in a rebound with the Lakers on the power play with 2:47 left in regulation, but the Laker attack was shut down by the Cadets.

St. Thomas Academy goaltender Wes Gervais was named Player of the Game with 18 saves, while Prior Lake's Sam Shopbell stopped 19 of 21 shots for the Lakers.
