Being the captain of one of North America's most recognizable hockey logos comes with a set of responsibilities unique for a teenager.

People know who you are on or off the ice. You are recognized at the grocery store, the golf course, and Edina High School hallways. 

Jackson Nevers has worn that yoke of responsibility for two seasons now, leading his Hornets to a Class AA State Tournament runner-up finish in 2023 and finally reaching the mountaintop with last night's 2-1 win over Chanhassen in the 2024 state title game. 

Along the way, Nevers has grown from a seven-point freshman clawing away on Edina's depth lines to an 18-goal, 52-point senior season in which he was held scoreless just three times during the Hornets' run to this year's championship. For his career, Nevers has totaled 55 goals and 122 points.
