PeeWee AA teams in the Rear View Mirror

Objects Are Closer Than They Look

JJ Wiebusch and Stillwater are a team to keep an eye on.

Blaine was first, losing to Minnetonka in the first round and then was faced with a four game gauntlet they could not overcome. And then on Sunday, OMG, Edina and Moorhead fell, the latter two in elimination games to teams they had beaten easily earlier in the year. Also on that Sunday, No. 1AA Minneapolis was knocked off by upstart St. Cloud and was forced to beat Eden Prairie in the play-in game.

This year, history could repeat itself again. There are three top teams in the state...Osseo Maple Grove, Edina, and Eden Prairie. At this point of the season, it doesn't look like any of those teams can be touched, but after that????

Right now, there seems to be a log jam from number four to number eight between St. Cloud, Park Cottage Grove, Apple Valley, Elk River and Chaska Chanhassen. What these teams don't know is there are five to ten teams in the rear view mirror that are built just like teams from last year like St. Cloud, Jefferson, Chaska Chan and Duluth East. Here is a peek.

Look out Rochester is the type of team no one wants to play come March

Rochester - this team is like a baby foal that is just getting its feet under them. Tyler Haskins despite being a first year player can take over a game at any level right now.

Stillwater - another bridesmaid type of team at this point in the season. So close to the prize, but no glory...yet. Just about every team they face leaves happy it is over. The Ponies have a relentless three line attack that will be a tough team to beat come regions.

White Bear Lake - the Bears have been missing star forward Lleyton Roed the past eight weeks and is due back at full strength soon. This makes them an immediate force to reckon with.
