White 2, 3v3 Champs
Sunday marks the end of the NOW Prospects Combine. Four morning games concluding with a championship game at high noon. Also on Sunday, the boys see their testing results posted. Mankato's Layten Liffrig took home the points title with 1405.
Sunday also means saying goodbye to newfound friends. Roseau guys staying over night in Maple Grove, rivals in March sharing a drink in the Lumberyard bar and many more bonds built that make the camp as much about the strong community of Minnesota hockey as good as the hockey.
Hockey fans saw a great championship Sunday. Low scoring and defense aren't usually words to describe 3v3 hockey. Grant Martin and Conner Nelsen were both great this week and on Sunday they played their best hockey with each stopping 60 shots in 60 minutes.
Gold (2) held the lead until the final minute - they were lead by sniper Jack Novak who had four goals, all on laser beams that Martin couldn't handle. White (2) had a hard time finding an easy goal on Nelsen all day and could never get their high powered attack on track. That is until the last two minutes where they scored 3 goals to overcome a two goal lead to win 10-9 for the title.
YHH would like to extend our insufficient thanks to the following list:

Marc Lund scores for Gold Sunday
Jackson Bisson, Gray - strong skater who is hard to knock off the puck, got some breaks Sunday as Gray (1) took home third place.
Drew Holt, Maroon - had five goals after missing Friday and Saturday 3v3 action.
Kade Nielsen, White - had a great 3v3 campaign...was a big difference maker for White all week. Has great hands and is a very hard nosed player.
Jack Novak, Gold - was a sharp shooter Sunday for Gold, has great hands and is very dangerous in space. All goalies are now officially warned.
Joey Pierce, Maroon - was a human wrecking ball all weekend, Pierce was bigger, faster and very driven on each shift.
Nick Williams, White - the comparisons to Edina's Clay Phillips are very similar. Great skater who moves the puck and makes plays.
