Combine Season Takes a Break

Since Wednesday morning, the participants in the NOW Prospects Combine have skated together, eaten together, practiced in on-ice instruction together and spent hours upon hours together.

In between, the players have played dodgeball, wall-ball, soccer, shot pucks without suggestion and developed their own games and contests away from the ice.

On Sunday, the Combine wrapped with the final slate of three-on-three games at the LumberYard, with an all-Maroon morning session ending with Maroon 1 downing Maroon 2 by a score of 22-16. Tysen Loeffler paced the winners with five goals, while Carter Davis led all scorers with seven tallies in the loss for Maroon 2.

Lucky Bischoff and Tommy Cronin took Grey 2 to the fifth place title with four goals each en route to a 15-9 win over White 1. Dawson McCann led White 1 with three goals to finish the three-on-three portion of the Combine with 16 goals in four games.

Sawyer Seidl racked up five goals for Gold 1 in the third place game, as the team tasked with wearing practice pinnies to distinguish between the two Gold teams earned a win over their former teammates 20-10. Gavin Black and Maxwell Roby each scored three times for Gold 2.

In the finals, White 2 cruised past Grey 1 15-9, led by a breakout performance by Wyatt Olson. Olson converted several attempts of a probably-patented toe-drag move on his way to six goals for the victors.

Hunter Hady tacks on a goal for White in Sunday's finals.
